Paul is now,officially, the new Laird.Isobel has left and Meg and Golly now have a baby boy named Cameron,unfortunately Meg is gone for good. There is a new chairperson,Iona. Paul clashes with her when he is unable to pay for repairs.

He has other worries also,the repairs on Iona's cottage are about done and he does not want her to leave,so he starts making faults up so she can't leave.

Iona's former fiancee,Malcolm,comes to Glenbogle when a tree blight threatens Glenbogle's forest. Golly is very busy with the baby and Jess is feeling the effects. She applies to the Annual Highlands Challenge,but gets snubbed by a local male ghillie,Robbie. Jess won't be defeated and enlists Molly to help her train.
Malcolm confides to Paul that he wants a second chance with Iona. Paul must think and act fast before he loses Iona for good!

All good things must come to an end and Monarch of the Glen is no exception. The bank has withdrawn it's loan and Paul must put Glenbogle up for sale. He has to start telling the others to look for a new home.
Paul must also come to terms with the upcoming wedding of Malcolm and Iona.
Molly finally realizes that she has feelings for Golly.
Kilwillie still has feelings for her.
Hector's memorial service is upon them.
Donald,upset over the upcoming sale,puts himself into a retirement home.
Jess misses Duncan.
Will things turn out right for everyone?
