A misguided attempt to bring to life the unseen wife of Lieutenant Columbo from the overwhelmingly popular Columbo. Throughout its short life, the series changed names numerous times: Mrs. Columbo , Kate The Detective and finally, Kate Loves A Mystery. Every change in title removed the character further and further from any involvement with Lieutenant Columbo (whose first name has never been revealed) from the original Columbo series.
Kate Callahan Columbo is a wife and mother (later divorcee and single mother) who has a talent for solving crime. She later gets a job as a reporter for a small newspaper where her crime solving abilities are a plus.
