Naked City

Naked City

Naked City was a police drama series broadcast in the United States which aired from 1958-59 and again from 1960 to 1963. Central characters during the show's first run were Lt. Dan Muldoon, played by John McIntire, and Detective Jimmy Halloran, played by James Franciscus. McIntire's character was killed off in mid-season when the actor decided to leave the series. He was replaced by Horace McMahon as Lt. Mike Parker. Despite critical acclaim, Naked City was cancelled after one season only to be resurrected again in 1960 as an hour-long show. McMahon reprised his role as Lt. Parker but Franciscus was replaced by Paul Burke who played Detective Adam Flint. Harry Bellaver appeared in both incarnations as Sgt. Frank Arcaro. The female love interests on the show were played by Suzanne Storrs as Janet Halloran, the wife of Detective Halloran, in the first incarnation and Nancy Malone as Libby Kingston, the actress girlfriend of Detective Flint, in the second incarnation.
