Conference Room Smell: Apocalypse Now
Heading to his business negotiations to sell WNYX, Jimmy tells Dave that he loves, "the smell of a negotiating room in the morning. It smells like, uh..." Dave then finishes the though by saying that it smells, "'[l]like victory'. Apocalypse Now." The line is a parody of the quote from the 1979 Francis Ford Coppola Vietnam War movie Apocalypse Now. The line is spoken by Robert Duvall's character, Liuetenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, who says, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for 12 hours. And when it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. But the smell, you know, that gasoline smell...the whole hill. It smelled like...victory."
