Nichols

Nichols was a western series which was broadcast on NBC in the United States. James Garner starred as Nichols, a former soldier, who becomes sheriff of his Arizona hometown from when he was a child. Despite a favorable timeslot between the Flip Wison and Dean Martin variety shows and the return of the popular Garner to series television after an absence of more than a decade, the series was so off-beat and quirky that it never clicked with viewers and was canceled after only one season on the air. Future Lois Lane Margo Kidder and future Angel Martin Stuart Margolin were Garner's co-stars in the series.
