At Mission Control in Houston, Simms and his team watch as on the Moon, a astronaut investigates a previous mission’s crash site. The astronaut, Steve, finds the previous team’s camera and sets it up. The astronaut then goes to the crash site and confirms that the mother ship crashed. Simms notes that they had communication with the missing team after the crash, but there’s no sign of them now.
Simms goes out to meet with the reporters and informs them that two ships landed in tandem on the Moon to build a colonization structure. One crashed and they are unable to find the second ship. The rescue ship has landed three hours ago and is exploring the site. One of the reporters notes that they received a transmission from the first ship mentioning an “attack.” Simms admits they’re not sure if the ship said it was under attack. The reporters wonder if the enemy might have launched an attack but Simms insists the Russians and Chinese have no reason to attack them and there is no other life on the Moon.
An assistant calls Simms back to the control room. Steve has found a metal structure built with components from the ship. They start to lose the signal as Steve realizes what it is, then screams in terror. Simms plays the footage back for the reporters. One of the reporters points out that it looks like a giant mousetrap
Back in Mission Control, they pick up a transmission from one of their cameras. They look on in horror as a giant mouse approaches the giant mousetrap.
