Hot on the trail of the Light Maiden are two ninjas, a brother and sister from the Kimon clan. They quickly find Shigure, along with Dakuan and Tsubute. After a brief encounter they seek refuge in an old shack from the unrelentless ninjas. There they find a resting Jubei, who gives some insight to the Dragon Stone, which Tsubute now intends to steal.
