Northern Exposure

Rob Morrow [now in CBS' hit Numb3rs] plays Joel Fleishman, a New York city slicker who finds himself sent to the remote town of Cicely, Alaska, as part of his medical scholarship. Once there, he’s welcomed by a slew of crank characters, including film buff Ed, ex-astronaut turned Cicely’s founding father Maurice, opinionated DJ Chris, and spunky pilot, Maggie. At first reluctant, eventually, Fleishman makes the snowy eccentric town his home, and finds a latent soul mate in the abovementioned pilot.
