Episode Notes |
| |
Gavin DeGraw previously made an appearance as himself in "You Gotta Go There to Come Back". | The song that Gavin DeGraw and Jamie sing at the beginning of the episode is the series' theme song, "I Don't Want To Be." The segments of the song that they sing are the exact segments that were used in the previous four seasons for the theme song. With the song being sung, this is the only season 5 episode that featured the theme song. |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Nathan: The darkness doesn't have any answers, Luke. | Lucas: You look good.
Lindsey: You look hungover.
Lucas: Yeah, well the a girl I almost married started dating again and after that things just kind of went dark. | Haley: (to Nathan) The day you start thinking that love is overrated is the day that you're wrong. | Lucas: You told me not to come to the airport. Why?
Brooke: I don't like you to see me like this... vulnerable.
Lucas: That's how I always see you Brooke. I think it's kind of beautiful. | Lucas: I don't hate you. I remember the first time I ever saw you; all skinny arms and tangled messy hair. It was hard letting you go Peyton. It was hard losing you and it was hard seeing you again. It's still really hard.
Peyton: I know. While I'm asleep I have this dream where we're back in that hotel room in L.A. and you propose to me, and every single time I say yes.
Lucas: It's just a dream right?
Peyton: It's my dream. | Brooke: You got my message? I told you not to come.
Lucas: I know.
Brooke: She's gone, Luke.
Lucas: I know. | Nathan: By the way, nobody's sporting the faux hawk anymore dude.
Jamie: I'm bringing it back! | (reading the predictions to Peyton)
Haley: I'm gonna violate my friendship rule here because you're at like code red. "Peyton Sawyer will become Peyton Scott." That was, like, eighth grade. He got a little cocky sophomore year: "Make out with Peyton Sawyer, or more." "This year I'll talk to Peyton Sawyer." "Try again with Bro -- Brooke Davis." Well, that ... but you know this is how much he doesn't hate you. It's a whole lifetime's worth. | Haley: Now that you mention it. It was junior year, the boy toy auction, we had that water balloon fight up here and you saw my tattoo of Nathan's jersey number for the first time.
Lucas: You mean your slutty little tramp stamp?
Haley: I am so barely your friend right now.
Lucas: Sorry.
Haley: The point is, I was so scared that night, I was falling in love for the first time and I was so unsure and I did it. And while it hasn’t been easy, it has being everything. We’re not kids anymore Luke you know, it really hurts me what your doing.
Lucas: Lindsey said no Hales, I said yes.
Haley: Don’t give me that Luke. I’m being honest with you now right now and you need to be honest with yourself. What do you want? If Lindsey’s the girl your in love with great. If it’s Peyton, great and if it’s Brooke just please, stop hiding your heart. I mean it. | Haley: You and I are going for a drive, but first we're gonna fix the ferret above your face.
Lucas: Why?
Haley: We're taking a drive because you're my best friend and you need me and we're fixing your very punk rock haircut because I have a five year old son who unfortunately wants to look just like his Uncle Lucas. | Lucas' Book Dedication: To all those lost souls who have forgotten to believe in the immensity of love. | Brooke: Hello?
Peyton: Hello?
Lindsey: Hello?
Lucas: Hey it's me. Look, I'm at the airport and I've got two tickets to Las Vegas. Do you wanna get married tonight? | Quentin: J Scott. Go get us some water, alright?
Jamie: Okay.
Quentin: Hey. If you see any hot, crazy nannies, you run back in here, okay?
Jamie: Not funny. |

Episode References |

Nathan: (to Lucas) Damn. You'd think somebody got thrown through a plate-glassed window.
Nathan is referencing his own accident which occurred in "I Forgot to Remember to Forget". In his accident, Nathan gets into a fight and is thrown through a plate glass window at a bar. Following his accident, he begins drinking frequently, similar to Lucas' current condition. | Haley: Now that you mention it. It was junior year, the boy toy auction, we had that water balloon fight up here and you saw my tattoo of Nathan's jersey number for the first time.
The scene that Haley's describing occured in "To Wish Impossible Things".
Haley and Lucas make their predictions in "First Day on a Brand New Planet". | Quentin: J Scott. Go get us some water, alright?
Jamie: Okay.
Quentin: Hey. If you see any hot, crazy nannies, you run back in here, okay?
Quentin is referencing "Hundred" in which Jamie is kidnapped by Carrie, his nanny. | Jamie: I think you drink too much.
Lucas: I think you're right.
Jamie and Nathan have the exact same dialogue in "4 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days." |
