This Valerie Bertinelli driven vehicle centered around Holly Aldridge who had just gotten divorced her husband and had left Minneapolis for the glamorous life in Paris, France. Holly eventually got herself a job translating American English to how the French understood English. She soon found herself hanging out at Cafe Americain where she ran into all sorts of people, including Marcel, a very suave Frenchman, who instantly became attracted to her. Holly's semi-claim to fame on the show was that the apartment she lived in was once writer Honore de Balzac's closet.
