He introduces himself as private investigator Donald Briggs and says he has a cab waiting for her. Lois gets in and they drive to the Sands Motel on the outskirts of town. Episode Quotes
Mrs. Adams: You contemptible blackmailer.
Donald Briggs: Around here, a man earns his living digging up potatoes and beets. I dig up information. Now what's the difference?
Mrs. Adams: The difference is in the kind of dirt you use.

Perry: Paul, what kind of luck do you think you'd have investigating an18-year-old murder case?
Paul: I've got trouble enough with the modern ones.

Judge Meeham: The man's dead. What's to be gained by bringing it up again?
Perry: Something with which we're both familiar. Justice.

Marv Adams: This magic water I have here makes fish walk and pigs fly. It also can make a duck drown.

Episode Goofs
When Briggs picks Lois up at the station, the taxi has a larger sign with bright white lettering near the rear of the driver's side door.

As it approaches the motel, the sign is smaller and darker, and centered on the door.

In the next shot, the sign is back to its original position.

The Waters Dairy Farm has an apostrophe in it that doesn't belong in the shot of the sign outside the farm.

But the sign on the barn during the barbeque is correctly punctuated.

When Marv is performing his magic trick with the duck, he picks it up and the bottle he's holding has a cap on it.

In the next shot, the cap instantly disappears.

As Paul and Della approach the house, the man driving the car has black hair and is clearly not Paul.

In the next shot as the car pulls up, Paul is at the wheel.
