 "Peter Gunn" Summary

Peter Gunn was a detective drama that aired on NBC from 1958 until 1960 and during the 1960-61 season on ABC. Craig Stevens starred in the title role. Created and produced by then neophyte filmmaker Blake Edwards, Peter Gunn was typical of the male private-eye genre of the late 1950s and early 1960s. The series was set in Los Angeles, and much of the action took place inside a jazz club called Mother's which was where Gunn hung out. Lola Albright co-starred as Gunn's galpal, Edie Hart, while Herschel Bernardi played Lt. Jacoby, his contact on the LAPD.
