An old college secret is revealed to be behind the young boy's torment...a father makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his son for his own past mistakes. Nick also reveals a darkly kept family secret of his own.

Nick discoveries an anomoly having to do with a colony that disappears and re-appears seemingly every 50 years and asks to investigate further. The discovery leads him and Rachel to the New Eden, a utopia run by a sinister Reverend Abraham Hawking who seeks to get rid of Nick and make Rachel, daughter of Ruth, his forever. Leaving Derek and Alex to discover the truth about the colony and find a way of getting the rest of their team home while delivering long awaited souls to their final destination.



5 :01x05 - The Tenement

As the team prepares for a dig to the Wall of Josephus Alex also prepares to take a slum landlord to court. On the witness stand Alex, unbeknown to her, is overcome by a dark power insisting the slum landlord be punished by staying in his own tenement until the repairs are completed. Later regretting her actions and trying to correct them Alex remains, on Derek's insistence, to complete what she started only to find out the landlord is in mortal danger.



6 :01x06 - The Twelfth Cave

First aired: May/17/1996

Derek receives a scroll from Randolph Hitchcock an old friend and former Legacy member as a donation to the Luna Foundation. The ancient artifact made out of human skin and written in human blood turns out to be the first confession to murder by Cain. His curse to anyone who possesses it is madness unfortunately for the team its current owner is none other than their friend and leader Derek Rayne.

Also in this episode, Alex goes it alone on a case to research a haunted Bed & Breakfast.



7 :01x07 - Man in the Mist

First aired: May/24/1996

In an attempt to help a John Doe, Rachel asks Derek and the team for help. Seismic disruptions, ghostly interruptions and the sudden remembrance of a broken promise lead them all back to a watery grave. John Doe is really Captain Samuel Hartford returned to shore and life when a simple telescope was broken. Upon realizing who he was and the terrible dangers that lie ahead if he remains the Captain must make a difficult sacrifice.



8 :01x08 - Ghost in the Road

First aired: May/31/1996

Nick runs into a mysterious girl he'd seen previously while racing his car on a deserted road. While trying to help her he discovers she has a deadly and tragic secret one that can lead him to his own grave if he comes too close. Rachel and Derek discover an eery statue of Jesus hidden in the Legacy library.



9 :01x09 - Doppleganger

First aired: Jun/07/1996

The team is asked to research a murdered Princely Egyptian mummy. At the same time Kat is suspended from school thanks to her new imaginary friend, Kali. Derek is plagued by nightmares of mumification rituals and Rachel feels guilty at Kat's apparent lashing out against her in the form of her imaginary friend. Everything comes together when it is discovered that the Egyptian Prince was really the Pharoah's only daughter killed and buried without a name. Only to leave them wondering...where is Kat and is Kali really just a figment of her imagination??



10 :01x10 - The Substitute

First aired: Jun/14/1996

Phillip makes the decision to leave the Legacy once and for all but takes on one last case as a favor for a Monseignor at a private Catholic school. A teacher has disappeared, a new Substitute has appeared out of no where and the Ledgerdemain club has been resurrected with the help of said subsistute teacher. Three teenage boys know the truth that underlies the teacher's disappearance but don't speak out of fear. Phillip and Nick must come up with clues on their own and fight the evil presence's hold in order to save all involved.



11 :01x11 - Do Not Go Gently

Guest star: Jerry Wasserman (Dr. Patterson)

Nick is called upon by an old flame to investigate the mysterious death of a young boy she swears she saw murdered. As the investigation proceeds the team discovers a series of routine procedures that end in death for relatively healthy patients. An even more frightening source of worry is when the team realizes the deaths haven't been accidental and the patients have been sacrificial lambs to an Aztec god. Knowing his friend might be next Nick rushes to help and falls victim to the one he meant to stop leaving Derek and Rachel to find their own way into the demon's layer to save both Nick and his friend.

In this episode, Alex is again on her own this time to France to safely deliver a map to Paris' House Precept. A safe trip turns hazardous when her contact is found dead.



12 :01x12 - The Crystal Scarab

First aired: Jun/28/1996
Guest star: Nicole de Boer (Samantha Wallace)

A father in desperate search of a cure to save his terminally ill daughter finds one but at a price. The crystal scarab is said to cure the one who wears it if another wears its matching ring but only for a short while. Once the ring drains its wear of life its only a matter of time until the scarab's effects begin to wane on the ill and another sacrifice is needed. Derek must convince his old friend to remove the scarab from his daughter and help save Nick who becomes the girl's next intended sacrifice.



13 :01x13 - The Bell of Girardius

First aired: Jul/12/1996

A break in at the Winston Rayne Hall of Antiquities seems afoul when nothing is broken and records identifying key artifacts appear to have been fudged purposely. The beautiful curator is Alex's only suspect but Derek is more concerned for her safety when they realize she's stolen the Bell of Girardius and may try to use it to return her dead fiance to life.



14 :01x14 - Fox Spirit

First aired: Jul/19/1996

The disappearance of two city employees leads the team to China Town and a deadly Chinese Fox Spirit. The team discover the desecrated grave of the vengeful ghost bent on correcting crimes committed against her race. With the help of Lee Tzin-Soong, an old Chinese acquaintance of Derek's, the team must hurry to give the ghost what she most desires before she continues on her deadly vengeance streak.



15 :01x15 - The Thirteenth Generation

First aired: Jul/26/1996
Guest star: Laurie Holden (Cora Jennings/Sarah Browning)

A young 17th Century woman is tried as a witch and sent to drowning test but before being completely submerged she curses the Reverend who passed punishment until the 13Th Generation. In present day Boston, Derek guest lectures at Boston University and meets a young woman plagued with disturbing dreams that turn out to be real murders. The team searches for answers as they help complete a genealogy to help save the historic pond from development. Soon they realize the remains from the pond, the murdered victims and someone close to Derek are all related...leading to the question is the curse a reality?



16 :01x16 - The Dark Priest

First aired: Aug/02/1996

A dark secret comes back to haunt the San Francisco Legacy house when an artifact is stolen from under their noses. Two small time criminals tied by blood to cult leader Levon Zoltar release the magical powers held in the amulet and soon realize in order for the amulet to give its full power human sacrifices are needed. Nick is off on a one man mission to stop the brothers as his father did before him with their father. The disturbing ending leaves both Derek and Nick wondering why...



17 :01x17 - Revelations

First aired: Aug/16/1996
Guest star: Allison Hossack (Miss Constance Merrick)

Rachel is called back by her old school headmistress when a small girl has an accident and the school comes under investigation. As Rachel tries to help the child come to terms with what happened and clear the school's name it becomes obvious to her she has no memories of being that age. It also becomes clear there is more to the school, its teachers and students than meets the eye. Derek also has a revelation in faith as he makes his visit to his sister Ingrid.



18 :01x18 - Bones of St. Anthony

First aired: Aug/23/1996

The team investigates the circumstances surrounding the death of a leading geneticist at the local university while working in his own lab. Derek discovers an old Legacy foe is behind the genetic work at the University. The race is on to find the demonic beast created by the murdered doctor either to control it or in the Legacy team's case to kill it!



19 :01x19 - The Inheritance

First aired: Aug/30/1996
Guest star: Gary Chalk (Sheriff Hank Parker)

Rachel receives a letter informing her of her Aunt Rebecca Cantwell's death and naming her sole beneficiary to Rebecca's estate as her only living relative. Out of respect for her Aunt and to settle the estate Rachel and Kat make the trip from San Francisco to Georgia soon followed by Nick. There the trio must overcome Rebecca's strong hold on Rachel as she strives to possess her niece, bring back her long deceased fiance and continue their work in the black arts.



20 :01x20 - The Signalman

First aired: Sep/06/1996

A supernatural/psychic debunk-er, Dr. David Praeger, begins to believe he's losing his mind when things he can't explain scientifically repeatedly happen to him. Alex is on the case when she looks up her old friend and is determined to make him see not everything has to measure up scientifically to be true.



21 :01x21 - The Reckoning

First aired: Sep/13/1996

Christina awakens Derek in a dreamlike but real state to foretell of trouble that lies ahead. Derek takes her warning seriously as his father often spoke of her. Phillip also returns from Ireland to deliver a package left by Winston for Derek in the Abbey. Everything comes together and the team discovers their youngest family member is the one in most danger. Derek and Rachel must also come to terms with a secret that concerns them both.



22 :01x22 - A Traitor Among Us

First aired: Sep/20/1996

Dr. Derek Rayne is brought forth to stand trial in a Legacy Tribunal where three other Legacy leaders will determine his fate. All members of the house are forced to answer questions and remember moments that put Derek's innocence and leadership in question. A cancer grows within the Legacy and someone within the Tribunal hearing is the cause...but is it Derek Rayne??



23 :02x01 - The New Guard

First aired: Mar/09/1997
Guest star: Mimi Kuzyk (Dr. Mary Alcott)

Derek goes it alone to investigate a series of suicides in Rose County but Alex and Nick go in search of him when he doesn't check in as scheduled. Somehow Derek has been inflicted with the same mass hysteria as those in Rose County and is found by his two associates just in time to save him from ending his life. When it seems the team has enough trouble another Legacy leader steps set on taking over while Derek recovers. Soon however it becomes obvious to Nick that helping Derek and working with William Sloan will be the least of his worries...the female members of his team are suddenly acting just as strangely as everyone else.



24 :02x02 - Black Widow

First aired: Mar/09/1997

Rachel is called to identify the body of a patient and volunteers to help investigate his death and that of a number of other men. The murders lead the team to a succubus, a female demon that uses her victim's sorrow and love for another to suck the life force from them. The teams cause for concern grows deeper when Nick seems to be blindly falling for a waitress with no past.



25 :02x03 - Lights Out!

First aired: Mar/14/1997

A large trunk is delivered late one night to William Sloan in care of the Luna Foundation. Derek and Sloan are both slightly suspicious as no one outside of the Legacy is ever aware of Sloan's itenerary but set the thought aside as Sloan allows the team to open the box. Soon things begin to go bump in the night as lights burst, items disappear and someone ends up dead. The Scottish Clan Cavendish is behind it all looking to drink enough of their enemies blood in order to continue their deadly killing streak. Derek and the team must find a way to defeat them before being completely trapped by their tinkerbell sized enemies...



26 :02x04 - The Spirit Thief

First aired: Mar/21/1997
Guest star: Neil Denis (Sick Boy)

Alex's free sprited sister, Tanya, turns up in San Francisco for a visit along with Shaman friend, Daniel Euwara. Derek quickly distrusts the man and after Tanya suddenly falls ill Alex also becomes suspicious. The team quickly discovers that Daniel Euwara isn't a Shaman but indead a Sorcerer...the discovery, however, may be too late as Tanya's life is quickly perishing.



27 :02x05 - The Gift

First aired: Mar/28/1997

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse or so it was suppose to be! Kat and Rachel spend Christmas at the Legacy but when Kat follows Derek's tradition of opening 1 gift on Christmas eve trouble insues. Kat believes the gift was left to her by her deceased father, wishful thinking the adults believe...but after Kat disappears Derek believes she's crossed over to be with her father and brother. Rachel must call out to her daughter to return but Kat won't listen...its up to Patrick to convince his little girl she must return.



28 :02x06 - Transference

First aired: Apr/04/1997
Guest star: Andre Benjamin (Orderly)

A criminally insane man stalks Rachel. As a former patient of hers, he credits her for his newfound understanding of life and death. Obsessed with death and ritual sacrifice the team worries that he may be looking for more than just a visit with Rachel.



29 :02x07 - Dark Angel

First aired: Apr/11/1997

A trouble young woman arrives at the Legacy claiming she's been followed by a man. Later, she reveals she was sent there by Father Brendan but her doctor soon arrives with news of his own concerning the girl. The team must make a choice let the girl flee or hand her over to her doctor?



30 :02x08 - Lives in the Balance

First aired: Apr/18/1997

A young man arrives at the Legacy claiming to be Derek's son. Though he looks much like Derek and has brought a small token of proof, Nick remains suspicious. Derek decides to bond with his new found son while the team do some investigating of their own.



31 :02x09 - Rough Beast

First aired: Apr/25/1997

Rachel's patient is terrified by nightmares of a wolf attacking at her doorfront. The case reminds Derek of a similar case handled by another more famous psychiatrist and leads him to believe they may be dealing with a real live Lupan...the creature more commonly known as the werewolf. The team aims to capture and kill the creature while Rachel wants to study it...first however, they must find it!



32 :02x10 - Ransom

First aired: May/02/1997

Sister Ingrid Rayne is kidnapped. The kidnappers demand a sacrificial blood chalice for her return. Clues lead Derek to a rogue Legacy house and to the reality that Ingrid's life is in danger with or without him giving in to the kidnappers' demands. Alongside Sloan and Nick, Derek must rush to save his sister's life or live with the guilt of another family member on his conscience.



33 :02x11 - Finding Richter

First aired: May/09/1997
Guest star: Brent Stait (John Wesley Richter)

The assasinations of religious leaders around the world leads Nick to believe it may be the work of a Special forces officer. The same officer that betrayed his trust and that of his platoon. Nick is off to find Richter with clues as to where to find him and bring him to justice. Derek and the rest of the team are left to wait for Nick's call much to their chargrin.



34 :02x12 - Repentance

First aired: May/23/1997

Phillip unwillingly returns to the Legacy when he's framed for the murder of a young parishoner. Nick believes he's being kept quite by something beyond his control and isn't far off. Eric Ravenwood, a convicted killer, previously executed is haunting Phillip for absolution and will stop at nothing including killing anyone that's close to Phillip to get it.



35 :02x13 - The Devil's Lighthouse

First aired: May/30/1997
Guest star: Scott Vickaryous (Bobby Warner)

After reading an article about a missing boy and a haunted lighthouse Derek decides the team should visit the last place the boy was seen. Rachel is skeptic but Derek and the rest of the team are convinced the boy is trapped in the lighthouse. After further investigation the team learns of the Lighthouse's deadly past and the ghost that haunts it.



36 :02x14 - Lullaby

First aired: Jun/13/1997

Kat and her friends call up a ghost while playing with an Isis board. Soon the ghost starts kidnapping them from their bedrooms and the team fears that Kat maybe next if they don't find a way to stop her.



37 :02x15 - Silent Partner

First aired: Jun/20/1997

Upon returning to San Francisco Laura Davis, a gifted childhood freind of Nick's, holds a seance and is visited by a ghost from the past. The entity identifies herself as Elizabeth to Nick and then disburses. Soon after, Elizabeth begins to take over Laura's body making everyone including the Legacy team worry for Laura's well being and that of certain people from Elizabeth's past.



38 :02x16 - Shadow Fall

First aired: Jun/27/1997

Strange occurences seem to happen around a teenage Native American boy whenever he becomes angered. The team at first believe the boy is manifesting telekenetic abilities. However, when he fails the tests and his mother confesses to a ritual performed during his childhood the team is lead in another direction. A shadow spirit meant to protect the boy from harm is increasingly growing out of control...the team must somehow stop it before it grows to powerful and eventually kills the boy.



39 :02x17 - Mind's Eye

First aired: Jul/04/1997
Guest star: Ocean Hellman (Sandra Bruskin)

Con Artist Jeffery Star thinks he's made easy money when terrified single mom Michelle Hoth falls for his act. Faking a psychic intervention Star is caught by Derek and Alex, sent to spend a night in jail and somehow ending up with a bump in the head that leads to a real psychic gift. Now with a newly acquired gift Star tries to help but his con artist tricks keep getting in the way. The team don't believe him but much to their dismay he's the only one coming quickly closer to the truth of what lies in Michelle's home.



40 :02x18 - Fear

First aired: Jul/18/1997

Rachel feigns a breakdown and has herself committed to Westview Sanitorium to help a friend against the team's wishes. Everything seems to be going well until Rachel's friend and doctor turn up dead locked in her office. With no where to turn Rachel finds herself succumbing to the same psychological traumas plaguing the other patients...Derek, Nick and Alex must hurry to get her out before its too late.



41 :02x19 - Someone to Watch Over Me

First aired: Jul/25/1997

Derek and Sloan travel to Montreal, Quebec, CA after Derek recieves a disturbing midnight call from old friend only to find out moments later said friend is deceased. The first of a many odd moments that grow cause for concern in Sloan especially as Derek seems to be more concerned for the widow's well being than in finding the truth.



42 :02x20 - Let Sleeping Demons Lie

First aired: Aug/03/1997

On the way to San Francisco with a collection of artifacts belonging to a deposed Baron the jet carrying William Sloan goes down. As the team scrambles to find the location of the crash Sloan struggles between what is real and what isn't when he comes face to face with the Baron de Rais. Baron de Rais has plans of his own for Sloan that include making him pay for the sins committed against him by the Legacy...



43 :02x21 - Trapped

First aired: Aug/10/1997

A stroke of lightning wipes out power in the Legacy House as Derek and Alex scan over the last Sepulcher. Derek grows possessed and Alex is overtaken quickly as she still lies unconscious. William Sloan and Nick arrive to find the house in complete darkness with Derek and Alex nowhere to be found. In the process of searching for their missing colleagues Sloan learns many secrets Derek had negated to share with the rest of the Legacy. After realizing what has happened William Sloan makes the ultimate sacrifice putting his friend and the Legacy before himself...



44 :02x22 - The Choice

First aired: Aug/17/1997

Rachel makes the decision to leave the Legacy. Believing her work with the Legacy is putting Kat in danger and afraid it may lead to an early grave Rachel wants out. It'll take the whole team to try and convince her otherwise...however, her change in heart takes convincing from the least expected place.

Alex takes a trip to the dark side. On an R&R visit to New Orleans Alex runs into an old friend that has more than a quick bite in mind.



46 :03x02 - Light of Day (2)

The fight for Alex's immortal soul continues is this second part episode. The object of Alex's lust for blood lies in a hospital bed fighting to get back in the game. Philippe continues to work his seduction game on Alex and urge her to complete her mission so that he may make her live forever. Both sides fight and argue trying to win Alex back to their side...ultimately, Alex alone can make the choice...



47 :03x03 - The Enlightened One

First aired: Feb/06/1998
Guest star: Aaron Smolinski (David Johansen)

Nick and Alex investigate an arson case sent to them from the Boston House...churches are being burnt all over the country beginning in Boston, then Dallas and now San Francisco. Soon after a young woman arrives claiming to be sent by the Boston House...Nick and Alex are suspicious but knowing she's a Legacy member give her the benefit of the doubt on Derek's order. However, the young woman's way of working puts them off. Especially after placing all their lives in danger when she gives away their location calling out to her brother in league with the cult they're investigating. Kristin Adams joins the house as a visiting Boston Legacy member and her first case with the team teaches her the Legacy is more than just a job to the SF house...its family.



48 :03x04 - Stolen Hearts

First aired: Feb/13/1998

A handsome man begins frequenting Rachel after offering to take her picture with Kat one day. Rachel quickly falls for him much to Kat's disappointment. While Rachel thinks he's perfect, Kat believes the man is a phony and distrusts him much like Derek who runs a background check. The only one that seems happy for Rachel, besides Rachel, is Alex. However, after their first encounter alone Rachel realizes the man she's falling for has ties to the dark side and those ties are after her child...



49 :03x05 - Father to Son

First aired: Feb/20/1998

Taking a short cut home one day Nick is convinced he witnessed a man being murdered but not just any man...his father. Nick learns Robert Boyle didn't die by accident but that he was murdered and now its up to him to solve his father's unsolved case and murder.



50 :03x06 - Fallen Angel

First aired: Feb/27/1998

A young woman returns to Earth after being Heaven bound and given the gift of Grace. Her return allows her wayward boyfriend to escape from Hell and begin a new wave of terror with new found powers to help. Derek, Alex and Nick must help the young woman realize she cannot rescue his soul like she believed she could and help her find peace.



51 :03x07 - Dream Lover

First aired: Mar/06/1998

Derek receives an ancient artifact shattered in pieces. Kristin and Alex take the task to re-assembling the package as Derek receives notice the sender, Samuel Kellig, was killed in an accident. The women discover Samuel's death may not have been an accident as they begin to put the urn back together as well as piece clues to Samuel's last dig. At the same time, Derek grows closer to Samuel's beautifully captivating fiance...a woman whose present character doesn't fit her profile.



52 :03x08 - Debt of Honor

First aired: Mar/13/1998

Nick attends a boyhood friend's military funeral and gets re-acquainted with another. After catching up and returning home Nick is called up a few days later when Joe, the deceased, begins paying John troubling visits. Nick, along with Kristin's help, must find out why his friend is out for revenge against John then its up to Nick to stop Joe before his soul is doomed forever.



53 :03x09 - The Light

First aired: Mar/20/1998
Guest star: Andrew Airlie (Edward Bishop)

Rachel and Nick investigate the sudden and suspicious deaths of influential family members. At first it seems like a fluke but after the second family member dies and Alex uncovers old news footage the team discovers it may be someone out for revenge. They must hurry to convince the revenge seeker to stop before the demon she released takes another life!



54 :03x10 - Hell Hath No Fury

First aired: Apr/10/1998

After a freed cop killer is killed Derek and the team investigate when it becomes obvious it was a ritualistic murder. More importantly, the murder was done using an artifact stolen from a Legacy collection on display by a former member. Though, Det. Carmack is set against allowing the team to help he has no choice as the Legacy is set on solving the case and retrieving their stolen property. Soon the investigation leads Derek to a truth he had secretly hoped wasn't the truth...



55 :03x11 - Irish Jug

Kat is on the job when the team is put in charge of cataloging and disbursing the bequeathed estate of Hanney Ellen Keane and Derek makes a grave error. Taking a few drinks from a cursed Irish Jug causes two ne'er-do-wellers escape from the Jug and possess Derek and Milo. Once the boys realize what year they're in and the fortune the one called Derek possesses they soon decide to stay awhile but before they can enjoy the riches they must get rid of the women. Being the only one that sees the two impostors for what they are Kat must think quickly and convince Alex to help her as Rachel is nowhere to be found.

The rest of the team try to help by investigating but she keeps pushing them away. The dreams continue and grow more intense as the days go by. Rose begins to tell Alex of her ancestor, La Belle, and so the search for the truth behind Alex's dreams becomes clearer. The reunion is bittersweet as people that could influence Eugene's career begin mysteriously dying of heart attacks and his agent becomes even more controlling. Derek and Nick are to the rescue but Eugene may already be lost...can they save Kristin?

A novitiate falls to her death with only Sister Ingrid as a witness but during the visit to console his sister, Derek and the team realize the death may not have been the young woman's will. The team must confront the secrets that lie within the convent walls and those within the young girl's family that lead to her demise. Also in this episode, Nick and Kristin take a road trip to the reading of a will.

Kristin in her continuing quest to find her father enlists Rachel's help. Together the two visit a Sanatorium that leads them to Sommerville. Unknown to them is the fact Sommerville was once a Japanase American concentration camp and that one of its former prisoners is about to imprison them. Rachel and Kristin must work together to form an escape plan while Nick and Derek quickly work from the outside to save the rest of their team.

With the boys out of town Alex, Rachel and Kristin are left to work on a special project. The women must uncover the secrets to a cube dating back to the Han Dynasty. Arriving to help them in this project is Nicholas Oldman but as he gets closer to each it becomes evident to at least one of them he has other plans for them and the cube.

Further into his search the clues to who is trying to bring them down becomes obviously clear when Alex returns not quite herself and Derek comes face to face with the foe he should have known all along.

Milo calls on Derek to help him find his beloved Genie in order to complete his wishes but things change for the worse when Megan becomes trapped in Janelle's bottle in order to gain her own freedom.

Alex wrestles with the guilt and grief of losing her Grandmother as Rose's spirit urges her to save another from the same fate. The spirit of a young boy drowned years prior has returned to seek revenge on another and Alex must help convince the boy to resist vengeance and move on.
