Port Charles

Port Charles

Port Charles began Sunday, June 1st, 1997 on the ABC network in the United States, with a two hour prime time special. The series was a spin off from ABC's popular award-winning soap opera General Hospital. For almost the next three years Port Charles was a lot like General Hospital, but it only aired for 30 minutes each weekday, when General Hospital got a full hour.

Then on Monday, December 4th, 2000, Port Charles began airing Port Charles: Fate, the first of twelve, thirteen week story arcs known as 'books'. Port Charles third book, which began June 4, 2001, added something new to its canvas...vampires.

After over 1000 episodes and a 2003 Daytime Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, the series was cancelled by ABC. Its final air date was Friday, October 3rd, 2003.
