| | Dave Lister is placed in suspended animation for 18 months for breaking quarantine regulations and smuggling a cat onto the Jupiter Mining Corporation's (JMC) Red Dwarf. However a radiation leak which wipes out the ships entire crew causes the ships computer, Holly, to keep him in stasis until the background radiation was safe. Three Million years later Lister is released from suspended animation to find the crew all dead and his only remaining companions are his insufferably annoying bunk mate Arnold Rimmer, who has been brought back as a Hologram, and a life form that has evolved from the cat Lister smuggled aboard. Finding that Red Dwarf has been drifting in deep space for Three Million years Lister decides to try to return to earth and discover what remains - encountering the oddities that deep space has to offer along the way. | |
