| Show Slang | Smeg:
A term used to replace generally every swear word that would appear in the show. At the time of broadcast only very mild swearing was permitted and Doug Nayler and Rob Grant used smeg as a way to get around this. Smeg is a very versatile word with several variants - most notalbly 'smeghead' which was Lister's 'pet name' for Rimmer throughout the series.
