The plot involves a runaway juvenile wetback (played by Michael Davis) and a horse. Jim Redigo hires Carlos, a young man who wants to be a "cowboy", and the boy runs away after overhearing and misunderstanding a telephone call made to his parents.

Redigo (Richard Egan) hires the son (Nico Minardos) of a slain Latin-American dictator to hide him from pursuing assassins. They show up, as expected, with submachine guns loaded, but Redigo, also as expected, foils their murder plans.



5 :01x05 - The Crooked Circle

Economic ruin threatens Jim Redigo and his fellow ranchers when a landslide closes the main irrigation channel and turns their grazing land into a desert. Patricia Royal, a woman engineer (Pippa Scott) complicates Redigo's problems.

Jim Redigo hires a prison parolee and then learns the man is a potential killer. Redigo tries to help him stay out of trouble with the parole board despite his flip attitude.
