Originally aired as a one two hour special, this first half explains Robins' background as well as the backgrounds of some of the merry men. These two episodes are about the formation of the band, as well as Robin as it's leader.
Apart from introducing its own version of the famous legend, this episode, and more so the following, has a sword and sorcery plot about Robin fighting a powerful and evil Baron, Simon de Belleme, only this time Robin has to have a strong mind as well as a sword.
This is the second half of the first episode, or the conclusion if you will. Last episode saw the inclusion of Little John, and Wil Scarlet, and now it's time to see how the rest of the merry men came to be a part of this band. It begins with Robin Hood being being seen as a problem in the eyes of the authorities, and so the Sheriff thinks of how to deal with the 'problem.' In what will soon become a familiar fashion, the Sheriff and Sir Guy try to capture Robin Hood.
Condemned to death by Abbot Hugo, a convicted 'witch' is seen by the Sheriff as a chance to get Robin Hood! A bargain is struck under duress: her life and the life of her husband in exchange for using her skills to incapacitate the merry men in order for Gisburne to do his job.
A group of Templars on their way to Lincoln have a precious item stolen by a random thief. When this thief is found momentarily in the company of Robin Hood and his men, the Templars believe it was stolen by them. With a hostage, the Templars demand the return of their icon by morning, or else the hostage will be hanged. With a race against the clock, and unsure of what the Templars want, Robin Hood must discover what they want and where it is.
Pulled straight from the old Robin Hood ballads, this is the story of a young minstrel, Alan A Dale, who passes through Sherwood, and when confronted by Robin, it's discovered he has no money. When asked where he's travelling to, he tells them he's on his way to kill the Sheriff! His love, Mildred, daughter of nobleman Baron De Bracey, is to wed the Sheriff, and he can't let that happen. Lured by promise of a large dowry, Robin agrees to aid Alan in recovering his precious Mildred and the dowry!
Robin Hood and his men help an ambushed knight in Sherwood, who just so happens to be the King Richard of England! Robin and his band, for saving the King's life, are granted a full pardon, and what's more, invited to fight join the fight in Normandy. Although Robin believes his true purpose has been found, some of the merry men are not so sure.
The show opens with Herne in a form of trance where he informs Robin of a prisoner that must be saved. Robin takes this to heart and when Little John is captured he thinks that must be the prisoner, until John tells Robin that not only is Prince John in Nottingham, but also he brings with him a prisoner, wearing something to conceal his identity. Instinct and faith in Herne propels Robin to lead the merry men on a rescue mission.
De Talmont, a leader in the local Jewish community, goes to Nottingham to collect on a debt incurred by the Sheriff, and while doing so chooses all the wrong words, misjudging the Sheriff's response. Sir Guy becomes infatuated with De Talmont's oldest daughter, and seeks to marry her. By luck and chance, Robin and the gang end up in the middle of all this , while having problems of their own, namely order within the band when Will challenges Robin's authority.
In the Sheriff's absence, Gisburne hires some former soldier comrades (now mercenaries) to help destroy Robin Hood. The timing is perfect since it's 'the time of the blessing,' during which Herne forbids any bloodshed for two days.
Robin succumbs to witchcraft and it's up to his merry men to save him, but it's a hard task since he is soon under the control of the powerful sorcerer Baron de Belleme.
The first of a two 'parter,' Robin and the gang head to a far off land in order to save a village from what they believe are devils. Robin vows to not only rid the village of the devils, but also to protect Albion with all his might.
The conclusion of a two part episode, Robin and the merry men must try hard to overcome pure evil and help save not only the village, but also the world and themselves in it!
Herne tells Robin that he has to face his greatest enemy, and that his whole life has culminated to and prepared him for facing this enemy. Meanwhile, the Sheriff tries once more to put an end to Robin Hood.
The beginning of a two part episode, as well as the beginning of a new Robin. Here we see how his clash with Lord Owen of Clun, coupled with his meeting of Marion, leads to his search for Herne and his destiny.
The conclusion of a two part episode in which we see how Robert of Huntingdon becomes Herne's son. Marion is in the clutches of Lord Owen of Clun and it's up to the remains of the merry men to get her back.
Robin Hood is back is everyone's thought, except Robert, who is hesitant to adopt the near holy name until he has proven himself worthy. Meanwhile, Marion is once more entangled with the outlaws and is caught trying to aid them.
Robin is summoned by a strange woman who bears a ring that he immediately recognizes. Going all the way across England, Robin arrives at a castle he is instructed to defend against a marauding band of mercenaries who intend to steal the castle's treasure.
The Sheriff is removed from his post and a new 'efficient' one takes his place. His justice is fair and swift, and aimed right at Robin Hood. In the meantime, he is accompanied by a Saracen who happens to have some old history with Nasir that has to be taken care of.
On their way to Croxden Abbey, Robin and the gang save a woman who is being robbed. Unbeknown to them, she holds a deep secret. Meanwhile, Much and Will eat from a leper's campsite, and are convinced they will soon die.
After Much gets injured in a trap, he has to be taken for help, but where? All of a sudden a man appears and invites them to his village, Cromm Cruac, and they agree to go, except Tuck, who is familiar with the name and has a bad feeling, despite being uncertain about the details. Robin asks Marion to go with him and the rest continue to the village. Soon, the merry men see why Tuck had apprehensions.
Another 'catch Robin Hood' episode, only this time it's not the Sheriff but King John who masterminds the killing of Robin Hood. The King gets soldiers to dress up like the merry men and commit atrocities with Robin Hood and his men taking the fall.
The Sheriff's nephew is kidnapped and the Sheriff calls on Robin Hood to track down and retrieve the child. The kidnappers are a band headed by a man named Adam Bell, who many believe to be just like Robin. Is Robin just another outlaw?
After John's annulment, his former wife plots to overthrow the King and put Arthur of Brittany in his place. The trouble is, Arthur was supposed to be dead. So what does this have to do with Robin? He has been taken into Robin's band and soon he is having the merry men aid him in his bidding, but is everyone willing?
A plot against his family Edgar, Robin's uncle, sets out to make the perfect plan of treason, then frames his brother, Robin's father. The plan is hinged on a 'witch' and her pig, Rutterkin, supposedly her familiar. Robin has to sort out the truth and bring his uncle to justice!
The first of a two part episode, this series finale brings back an old foe, Gulnar, back to Robin's life. With many twists and turns, and seemingly everything going wrong, he has to track down Gulnar, and face him yet again. Meanwhile, the Sheriff is hunting Gisburne to save his own head as the King's demands become more severe.
In this the final half of a two part episode, and the series finale, Robin has to cope with Gulnar's reappearance, and this time, Gulnar's evil deed is a golem identical to Robin himself. Robin and his merry men have to set the world to rights. Also, Gisburne and the Sheriff are seeking a way back into the King's favour without losing their heads.
