Hal's life is most definitely not sunshine and roses: his employment insurance has just run out, he's accidentally killed all the pot plants, he's got no job, and no prospects. Nick's life seems to be so much better: he's looking for a job, and has a new friend, Wayne, who's introducing him to all kinds of interesting new things. This leads to some jealousy between Hal and Nick which might just end their friendship.
