Serpico: Country Boy
An ex-prisoner is convinced by a a former inmate to be the getaway driver in a robbery bank. Serpico contacts one of them in order to make him desist. Serpico poses as a parolee to win the trust of a Texas "cowboy" he suspects of robbing and beating the proprietor of a New York delicatessen, then pretends to aid him in plotting a bank robbery.

Narrator: On Feb. 3, 1971, at 10:42 p.m., Frank Serpico was shot in the face by Edgar Echevaria. Serpico did not die. The following day at various precinct houses of the New York Police Department, a collection was begun to hire a lawyer for Echevaria, and to pay for lessons to teach him to shoot better. This story takes place before that happened.
