Recap

Hammer and Doreau are driving to work when they spot a crowd on the sidewalk. They're watching a man preparing to jump, but Hammer takes out his gun and shoots at the man's feet until he goes back into the window. Hammer's down to one bullet and needs to stop at the bank to get some cash. The ATM can't process Hammer's request due to insufficient funds and Doreau convinces him to go inside rather than shoot the ATM. The bank manager, Crandell, is foreclosing on an old woman's home when Hammer and Doreau enter. When Hammer insists the ATM made a mistake, Crandell insists that can't happen but offers to check it out. When the manager makes a joke on his name, Hammer goes after him but Doreau convinces him to act like a civil human being. He relents but they're interrupted when bank robbers Cliff and Lou enter and take everything, even a boy's piggy bank and Doreau's purse with her gun...

Episode Quotes
Doreau: Hammer, have you ever seriously thought about taking up meditation? It might control your aggressive tendencies.
Hammer: (yelling out the car) What are you, brain-dead?!? What was that, Doreau?

Crandell: Your name, please?
Hammer: Sledge Hammer.
Crandell: Sledge... Hammer. Where were you born, a tool shed?

(as the police pull up)
Crandell: Wow, how'd they get here so fast?
Hammer: There's a donut shop around the corner.

Mayjoy: And I think Inspector Sledge Hammer's inside.
Trunk: Why do you say that?
Mayjoy: Isn't that his car?
Trunk: That's it, all right. Those poor people.
Mayjoy: The hostages, sir?
Trunk: No, the robbers.

Cliff: I'm just itching to blow you away.
Hammer: I know the feeling.

Trunk: Have they hurt anyone?
Hammer: Not yet.
Trunk: Have you hurt anyone?
Hammer: Not yet.

Cliff: You know if there's anything I hate worse than a cop, it's a chick who's a cop.
Doraeu: What have you got against cops anyway?
Cliff: My old lady was a cop. My mother the cop. Do you know what it feels to be breast-fed by a person who's wearing a shoulder holster?

Doreau: Our only choice now is to make a crash landing. Better tell the others. And try and sound positive.
Hammer: What's positive? That not all of us are going to Hell?
