Episode Notes |
| |
Watch closely. Despite the time frame, Bennish never changes his clothes until the final scene. | The basic idea that seperates this world (aside from the asteroid) from the rest was that Einstein rigged the A-Bomb to fail, due to the fact he didn't want to bear the responsibility. | This show was said to have inspired the film Armageddon. | FOX failed to air the episodes in order. In the first season this episode was meant to air 6th, but instead aired 3rd. | Jennifer Hetrick (Caroline Fontaine) would later play Claire LaBeau in the series finale "The Seer". |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Arturo: The first casualty of sliding is dignity. | Bennish: I've even got the prototype.
Arturo: You've got the prototype of the bo-- Here? In San Francisco?
Bennish: Ready, willing, and able. Fat Boy.
Arturo: I beg your pardon?
Bennish: Fat Boy. The name of the bomb is "Fat Boy".
Arturo: The name of the bomb was "Fat Man", you blistering idiot! | Arturo: Mr. Bennish, appalling as this thought may be, you and I are going to be spending a lot of time together.
Bennish: No way, chief. I got a girlfriend.
Arturo: Don't be an idiot! You and I are going to make an atom bomb. | Wade: I don't want to spend my last hours worrying about something that I have no control over.
(Quinn opens the wine bottle)
Quinn: You're amazing. I never realized it.
Wade: There's a lot of things about me you never realized.
Quinn: Oh yeah?
Wade: Yeah.
Quinn: What else?
(They nearly kiss, but Wade hesitates)
Wade: Do you... have any matches?
Quinn: I'll go check. | Arturo: Mr. Bennish, if we survive I promise you this: I will dedicate my life to isolating the gene that makes you so obnoxious and I will destroy it. |

Episode Goofs |
| |
When Bennish says he has the prototype, the paper in Arturo's hand goes from one hand to the other between shots. | They've known about the asteroid for months, but apparently the scientists are holding a press conference to tell you about it again? | The time frame in the episode continues to change. Throughout the show, you hear police announce when the asteroid will hit. At one point, we hear them say 72 hours when we know it will hit in about 48. Next, we know it will hit around 6PM: In another part we hear it will hit in 16 hours during the morning. 16 hours away from 6PM is 2AM. Why is the sun out at 2AM? We're also to believe that they can caculate a rocket launch and send off the A-bomb in about 4 hours. | Anyone else notice after Rembrandt stops singing, they go right back to playing the music they were when he walked in? Wouldn't people get tired of the tune? | Quinn throws the fire extinguisher on the floor, but it makes no noise. | Bennish was hugging Quinn and celebrating with him when Arturo drops the piece of paper for the A-Bomb. But then we see Bennish pick it up. How did he get next to Arturo so quickly? |
