The first world we see the group on is a world where "supposedly" the ice caps had finally melted.
 
FOX failed to air the episodes in order. In the first season, this episode was meant to air 3rd, but instead aired 4th. Proof of this is furthered as we see the group on top of a tower after San Francisco is flooded. It's flooded because in the episode that was supposed to air before it, ("Summer of Love," which actually aired after it) a giant tidal wave was headed their way.
 
 
Episode Quotes
 
Driver: Our entire hotel is at your disposal. Why don't I take you to the Royal Suite?
Arturo: Well, er... the, um... Royal Suite is probably a little more than we can afford.
Driver: (nervously laughing) A little more than you can afford. Oh, you kill me, sir, you kill... (stops laughing) I meant that as a pun, of course.
 
Sherrif Arturo: As part of my contract with America, I have enacted a middle-class tax cut. Starting today, you middle-income commoners will only have to pay 74% of your gross earning to my government, a generous 2% decrease.
 
Rembrandt: What's gonna happen when they find out that he ain't him?
Arturo: I don't know. But I, for one, am certainly not sticking around to find out.
Wade: Yes, but, for the moment you are still the sheriff. There's no sense in leaving empty handed.
Arturo: Sometimes Miss Wells... you frighten me. (picks up telephone) Yes, my good man. I want a car sent around immediately. I want the trunk filled with the finest cheeses and fresh fruit that you have. I want every single contemporary periodical and newspaper... and I want all the cash from your register.
 
Wade: I can't believe this Prince Harold guy. What an idiot! He only likes women "under 20 or over 60". And look at this. He's quoted as saying that poor people have "chosen to be poor, because otherwise, they'd be rich".
 
Arturo: (writing up the Bill of Rights) What's the Sixth?
Rembrandt: Uh, "Equal rights for all, regardless of race, religion, or musical preference."
Arturo: It is not!
 
Arturo: And remember, the reason why the sun never sets on the British Empire is because God doesn't trust the British in the dark.
 
Rebecca: What does it say?
Prince Harold: (opens paper that Arturo gave him) "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." (opens Rembrant's note) "and James Brown is acknowledged as The Godfather of Soul."

Episode Goofs
 
This episode picks up where "Summer of Love" ends where a massive tidal wave is seen coming towards the Sliders. Obviously, to have gotten on top of the building, by any fashion, they would have to have gotten wet. Yet, they are completely dry when we see them even though they had no less than 48 minutes until the next window, which is not enough to dry off.
 
When Quinn opens the window on water world, we see him use the timer with one hand while using the other to hold on to. Yet when it cuts to a shot of the portal opening, he is holding the timer with both hands.
 
When Rembrandt is walking around the underground hideout, we see a Raider sitting on a table and getting up. You can see that his armband is untied and it falls off just before he walks out of frame.
 
Earlier in the episode, we see Arturo driving a red car with the steering on the right side of the dash. But when Quinn pulls up at the end of the episode, he's driving a car with a steering wheel on the left.
 
How did Quinn know directly where to go to find the Prince?
 
After the Prince escapes, Quinn rushes to get his coat. Very quickly, Wade mentions something about wishing he'd let her come with him. Where was the dialogue about him telling her no?
 
Apparently the Raiders were able to hold up an armored car with nothing more than crossbows.
 
The first time Wade has a "heart-to-heart" with the Prince, she brings him pillows and a blanket. But then she leaves him tied up after she makes her point.
 
A boom mike can be seen in the shot near the top of the screen as the Sliders are entering their new hotel room.
 
 
Cultural References
 
Bank Name: Benedict Arnold Savings & Loan

An obvious parody of the famous bank "Washington Savings & Loan." Wade also picks up a paper called BSA Today, another obvious parody of the newspaper "USA Today."
 
Sheriff Arturo's Show: Everything I Say Is Right.

Sheriff Arturo's TV show is a clear parody of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's 1992-1996 syndicated TV show, with a very similar set including the books on the wall. The Sheriff's "Everything I Say Is Right" is a send-up of Limbaugh's books "The Way Things Ought To Be" and "See, I Told You So".
