When the Sliders are forced to depart from a world early, the timer is damaged and the group becomes separated. They arrive on a world where the "Free Love" movement of the 60's is still alive, and the Hippies are protesting the American troops in Australia. While Wade and Rembrandt fall into the company of a commune who mistake them for extraterrestrial prophets, Quinn and Arturo try to repair the broken timer.

Episode Notes |
| |
Wade's middle name is Kathleen, Rembrandt's middle name is Lee, and Arturo's middle initial is P. | The first world the Sliders land on has a wasp-like creature that has migrated north. The next they land on is a world where the U.S. is currently at war with Australia. | The writers put in the opening scene with Bennish to give the fans some notice that they didn't just "vanish without anyone caring." It was to also introduce Bennish for future seasons. | FOX failed to air the episodes in order. In the first season this episode was meant to air 2nd, but instead aired 5th. | A cut scene from this episode explains why the timer functions as a countdown device and the danger of missing the slide. The scene was cut after "Fever" was moved ahead in the order by Fox and therefore no longer made sense. | Actor Robert Lee was disappointed to find out that his American voice had been inexplicably dubbed over by someone with a foreign accent. |

Episode Quotes |
| |
Bennish: Woah, what are you guys doing here? Oh hey, if it's about that bong I just bought, I thought it was a plant holder. | Harold: These three individuals have been missing since Tuesday, Mr. Bennish. We have reason to believe a fourth individual may also have disappeared. Rembrandt Brown, also known as "The Cooking Man".
Copeland: "Crying Man".
Harold: Whatever. | Newscaster: Given the massive devestation in Southern California, it's hard to imagine anyone would be foolish enough to venture within 100 miles of this place.
Arturo: Of course! Who else could possibly be here but us, the happy wanderers? |

Episode Goofs |

You can tell the mouse Ms. Tweak holds up is fake. | Watch the way Rembrandt's family carries him around the house. They don't bring him fast enough toward the headbeam to make the kind of thud we hear. | The rock Quinn throws hits Arturo in the front of his head, not from behind where Quinn was standing. | Who would create a loud speaker announcement stating "May God Have Mercy On Your Soul"? I guess they thought no one would be around to care. |

Disaster: Spiderwasp
The story of the Spiderwasp is a parody of the story of the Killerbee. An insect being created in South America which escaped and started heading north. Though the speed of the bee is much slower than the wasps. |

Timer Explanation: Part 2
FAIR WARNING: This includes material from the deleted scenes mentioned in the Notes section. Upon hitting the "Wasp World," Quinn busts up the timer. He quickly slaps it back together, but says it's overheated. This is because they have been using the timer in the original fashion for the past few worlds, cranking the top dial up for all of them to get through. When they hit "1960's World," Quinn and Arturo fix the timer the best way they can, using the Helix Spiral theory as a base for their math. The basic plan is that they rig the timer to always open with enough power for a 60 second window that can shoot the four of them through. It's setup so that every world THEY use THEIR timer to slide from (remember that for future reference), they will never hit that world again. Therefore, every time they slide to a world that isn't home, they'll never hit it again, making their chances for getting home better than when they started. The timer is set up so it will always have a countdown sequence, which tells them when the next "window of opportunity" will arrive for them to slide through. The theory dictates that they have a better chance if they let the timer countdown, rather then Sliding when they see fit. FURTHER READING: Head to the episode entitled "Into The Mystic" for further development on the Timer. |
