| |
The Sliders arrive on Rembrandt's idea of paradise: a world where his double has achieved all the fame he's ever wanted. They discover that his double has been dead for eight years, but Rembrandt gets swept up in a major comeback concert. Unfortunately for him, an old enemy plots to get rid of him once and for all.

FOX failed to air the episodes in order. This episode actually aired in it's correct position, which was 8th -- making it the only episode outside of the Pilot and the season finale to air in it's proper order. But since the episodes leading up to it didn't air correctly, it really doesn't matter.
| The idea behind "Punishment World" is that even the smallest crimes have high stakes, as is the case with Quinn getting the death sentence for spray-painting.
| LOOK HARD: In the background in Rembrandt's dressing room, we see a black and white picture of the State Of Liberty. It is the unedited version of the picture we saw on t-shirts on "Communist World" in the Pilot.

The timing for this episode is messed up. After Rembrandt is captured (on the night of Day 2), the next scene is the morning of Day 3. It then returns to the night of Day 2 for the scene in the Captain's office.
| When people first begin to notice Rembrandt as the group walks out of the courthouse, the Professor instructs the men to check their flies. They do, including Quinn who uses one hand to lift up his sweater to check, even though it's apparent that his hands are supposed to be cuffed behind him during this scene!
| Maurice apparently hits Rembrandt in the face with a bottle, which we hear shatter upon impact. But when we see Rembrandt tied up in the basement, there are no cuts on his face.
| Quinn searched for the license plate on Jack's computer. He says he was searching by plate name, but we can clearly see he was doing it by last name.
