Episode Quotes
Quinn: Pyramids where Los Angeles used to be on our world. Pretty weird, huh?
Rembrandt: Not any more weird than Hollywood.

Quinn: No, I'm not royalty. I'm just a scientist, trying to find his way home.

Kheri-Heb: Success covers many evils.

Rembrandt: (referring to the pyramid) Yeah, it probably cost twice as much as the estimate. You know how contractors are.

Dr. Deera Mubaric: (to Quinn) Ouch, you're a real sweet talker.

Rembrandt: Think of it as an impromptu phaser.

Cultural References
Title: "Slide Like an Egyptian"

The title is a reference to the popular 1986 song "Walk Like an Egyptian" by The Bangles, released on their album Different Light.

Rembrandt: Think of it as an impromptu phaser.

A phaser is the standard Starfleet weapon in the Star Trek franchise. It exists as a hand weapon, a larger cannon, and a ship's mounted weapon, and emits a beam of energy which can stun, kill, and disintegrate at the proper setting.

This may be coincidental, but in an episode set in an Egyptian dominated world, the doctor's name (Mubaric) sounds like the name of Egypt's long serving president at the time of the show (Hosni Mubarak).
