The Freedom Fighters are in need of some supplies, so Sonic and Tails head off to Robotropolis in order to acquire the material they need. However, the two discover that Dr. Robotnik is planning on sending an army of Buzzbombers into the Great Forest in order to destroy the Freedom Fighters once and for all. The successful defense of the Great Forest relies on the catapults, though will they be ready to use by the time the Buzzbombers arrive?

Analysis |
| |
This episode is much different than the rest of the episodes in the series because this was the pilot episode. This episode is structured more similarly to “The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog”, in which comedy played a stronger role and the visual design of the Buzzbombers were very similar to that of the other series. This episode also had several other changes, such as the fact that Sally was pink and that Tails participated in missions, though despite all of the differences, this episode still aired as part of the series when the series debuted on ABC.
