Veteran Western star Joel McCrea tried his hand at series television with this effort which lasted for one season on NBC. McCrea played Marshal Mike Dunbar, who enforced the law in the then frontier Kansas town of Wichita. McCrea's real life son, Jody, co-starred with his father in the series.
