Stan finds himself in a bit of financial trouble when his bicycle is impounded, and has to take a job coaching Pee-Wee hockey to pay off the debt. Stan learns one of the players has cancer, and the only thing that might save him is if Stan can coach the team to victory. Unfortunately, he's facing a talentless group of players, a father who doesn't believe in him, and a ton of sports movie clichés.

Episode Quotes |
| |
Hockey Announcer: Oh, and it appears the goalie has pooped his pants! | Stan: Oh uh, hey Nelson.
Nelson: Oh.. (coughs) Hi, coach.
Stan: Dude, I can come back later. Is this a bad time for you?
Nelson: Yeah, it's a pretty bad time for me, coach. I'm only five and I'm dying. | Mr. Brown: Will you talk to him, coach? He looks up to you.
Stan: No, I think you oughta.
Mr. Brown: Nah, I'm just his father. But you're his coach! You're like a father to him. |

Cultural References |
| |
Visual: Moca Cola
The Moca Cola sign is a parody of international cola brand, Coca-Cola, though it is very surprising that any other cola beverage would be advertised in the Pepsi Center. | Visual: Lizard Ade
The logo for Lizard Ade is nearly identical to the lizard logo on Sobe Beverages. The name itself is a spoof of the popular sports drink Gatorade. | Doctor: Just be aware of this coach, if you lose the big game, that little boy is gonna die faster than Steve Irwin in a tank full of stingrays.
Stan: They're not gonna kill us!
Player: That's what Steve Irwin said about those stingrays.
This marks the second and third jokes South Park has made about wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin's death by stingray. The first was from episode "Hell On Earth 2006." These two jokes were likely inserted into the episode because of the negative reactions to the Steve Irwin joke in "Hell on Earth." |

Episode References |
| |
Visual: Newspaper Headline - "What is Scuzzlebutt?"
In the opening scene, Mr. Jarvis has some framed newspaper pages behind him on the wall. One of them reads, "What is Scuzzlebutt?" This is a reference to the episode "Volcano," when Scuzzlebutt saves the boys from hot lava. | Visual: Newspaper Headline - Local Inventor Hits Big (with a photo of Mr. Garrison)
Another one of Mr. Jarvis' framed papers, this one refers to the episode, "The Entity (a.k.a. The Ginger Device)." | Visual: Newspaper Headline - "Smug Alert"
Another one of Mr. Jarvis' framed papers, this one is a reference to an episode earlier in the season, "Smug Alert!" | Stan: I remember going to Shakey's afterwards.
This is the second reference to Shakey's Pizza, an actual pizza parlor. The first was in the episode, "Kenny Dies." |
