In the year 2063 mankind has spread to the stars and have found no living alien competitors. By this point, mankind had faced down a rebellion by the A.I.’s (artificial intelligent robots), and while some elements of the A.I’s still exist, Mankind is in a period of peace. Nathan West (Morgan Weisser) and his girlfriend have trained long and hard to become settlers on a far-off world. Then West is removed from the program. To reach the stars, he joins the space marines. Shortly thereafter the aliens, the Chigs, attack.

Space: Above and Beyond is the creation of X-Files writers James Wong and Glen Morgan. The series is a science fiction war series that focuses on Nathan West and the five fellow recruits that trained with him and their activities in the war as part of the Wildcats. They are lead by Lt. Col. Tyrus Cassius McQueen (James Morrison), the last surviving member of an elite fighter wing, the Angry Angels. Action occurs in space, on Earth, and on alien planets. The fighting is space-fighter against space-fighter and man-to-man (on the ground).
