Most of Space Ghost's abilities come from his power bands, a pair of red bands each with three yellow buttons that fit around his wrists. They are made of a semi-flexible material. Pressing the buttons in various combinations activates his powers, which include pretty much anything the writers decided to give him. His most frequently used power was his Energy Force, a concussive beam projected from his closed fists. Another popular choices included his Heat Force, which could melt almost anything in seconds. Effects that appeared a few times include his Pile Driver Ray, which seems to be a combination of his Energy Force and his Force Field. He has also drawn objects to them with a Magno Ray and cut objects with a Laser. A Sensor Ray seems to operate continuously, once warning him of an invisible attacker before he took any obvious action. Defensively, he has used a Force Field to ward off harm, and a Freeze Force Field to protect him from Moltar's attempt to suffocate him in molten rock. Finally, he has Inviso Power, which permits him to reconnoiter and approach targets stealthily. He is shown activating this power from his energy bands on at least one occasion, but it may originate from his belt, which may be similar to the Inviso Power belts Jan and Jace wear.
