Episode Notes

The sign hanging from the ceiling at Walter's farewell party at the Lakeview Retirement Home read "Goodbye Walter, see you soon".

Some of the things that the kids wanted when they found out Cody had inherited $250,000 were: JT wanted a Maserati ($100,000), Dana wanted an apartment over the garage, Mark wanted a new color laptop with laser printer, Al wanted $5000 for baseball camp, Karen wanted Cody to finance her exercise video and Brendan wanted a pony.

Episode Quotes

Frank: When it comes to solving problems old Frankie's got the magic touch. OWWWW (sticks himself with a fish lure)
Dana: Oh yeah? Well how does old Frankie propose I study for my test with the stereo blasting all night?
Frank: Why don't you go to the library?
Dana: The library? Oh that's great, i want peace and quiet and you send me to a pick-up joint like the library!

Walter: I tell ya Esther if I watch one more soap opera I'm gonna lose my lunch. Not that it was worth keeping.
Esther: I hear ya Walter, I been sitting in this chair so long I'm getting butt burn.

Carol: Cody let me tell you something about Frank's and my kids. They're greedy little pigs. They'd steal the gold out of you teeth if you fell asleep with your mouth open.

(Carol talking to Cody about the money)
Carol: Why don't you spend it on yourself?
Cody: On what? You've seen my van, I live like a king!

(Frank telling Carol where he bought the new video camera from)
Carol: Rusty's Galaxy of Gadgets? I never heard of it.
Frank: A guy at work told me about him. Rusty's all over.
Carol: All over like a chain?
Frank: All over like a Buick.

Episode Goofs

Walter and Esther (residents at the Lakeview Retirement Home) are watching TV when the announcer tells them to tune in tommorrow for more of "Edge of Darkness". Now while the writers intended this to be a fictional soap opera it actually turns out that a series by that tite did exist. And it too was a rather soapy affair, only there's little chance the two where actually watching the original series as that was a British mini-series in 1985. It only contained 6 parts.

Cultural References

The Munsters Shirley (a resident at the Lakeview Retirement Home) pinches JT's cheeks and tells him he looks like the little boy from The Munsters (Eddie). A direct reference to the 60's classic sitcom starring Fred Gwynne.

Cindy Crawford The world famous model, actress and workout video poineer was referenced mockingly by Al when trying to get under Karen's skin. Saying Karen wanted to listen to a tape by Crawford to get ready for her big date.
