JT dates an older woman (29 to his 19) and everyone wonders what she sees in him. It's soon revealed though that JT's friend has an ulterior motive. By chance the lady blabs to Jean-Luc during an appointment and it's up to him to deliver the news to JT.

Meanwhile, Mark and his friends secure a copy of an adult movie and set up in the garage for a little fun. Though it's not them that end up enjoying the movie.

Episode Quotes

Frank: (reading Mark's note) Dear ticket guy at cinerama 5, I give permission for Mark Foster to see the movie Showgirls. I'm aware that this movie contains full frontal nudity and explicit sexual encounters. However I feel that this is an important film for Mark to see.

Karen: Dana, I have never seen you like this before.
Rich: Yeah well I have that effect on women. Spends a few weeks with me and shave 30 points off their IQ.
Dana: What can I say? Sometime it's nice to swim in the shallow end of the pool.

Carol: What would you say if you're 19 year-old step-son was dating a 29 year-old French woman?
Jean-Luc: I would say you da man.
(JT and Jean-Luc exchange low-fives)
JT: Yeah! You hear that Carol? I'm the man. Viva la France.

Mark: Well guys, we smoked cigars together, we burned down my dads tool shed together and tonight...naked girls.

Al: Well dad, this must be a real proud day for you. One son is getting married to the first girl who kissed him and the other one is watching pornos in the garage.
Frank: You know what I'm really not in the mood for right now, Al?
Al: Me?
Frank: Bingo.

Frank: Mark, I know you're curious about women and sex and things like that but I don't think watching the Naughty Nurses is the right way to learn about it.
Mark: Could you suggest another film then?

Episode Goofs

In the scene with Mark and his friends in the garage, Mark says: "Well guys, we smoked cigars together, we burned down my dads tool shed together and tonight...naked girls." Making this the first time any of the Foster brew has referred to Frank as anything other than than their step-father.

As a side note, the girls commonly refer to each other as sisters instead of step-sisters.

Mark and his friends rented, The Little Mermaid, as a cover for actually renting an adult movie. Though no mention was made of the fact that adult films are kept in a seperate room so the kids would never have had access to the film to be able to do the switch.

Cultural References

Showgirls: Mark wants Frank to give him written permission to see the movie. Starring Elizabeth Berkley, of Saved by the Bell fame, the stripper flick has become a cult classic.

Lady and the Tramp: Dana and Rich imitated the famous scene with the two pooches sharing a piece of spaghetti and then kissing when they met in the middle.

Brad Pitt: Jean-Luc refers to the star in speedos. A common reference for the series.

Melrose Place: Jean-Luc refers to Dana, Rich, Karen and JT as this when he entered the kitchen. The original series ran on FOX for 5 seasons in the 1990's.

Terminator, Grumpy Old Men, Sleepless in Seattle: These three movies are referenced by Mark and his friends when discussing what movies they wanna rent on the night.

Flintstones: The popular 1960's animated comedy was referred to briefly when Jean-Luc mentioned the vitamins brand.

Little Mermaid: This Disney classic was referred to many times during this episode as it was the film the guys rented to cover up the fact that they rented a porno.

Episode References

Mark refers to the time that he and his buddies snuck some cigars into the garage and smoked them and got caught. Episode 05x01.
