Step by Step: A Star is Born

A Hollywood producer comes to Port Washington (Why? who knows) and holds auditions for the role of a waitress in his upcoming film. Karen, Dana and Al tryout, but its Al who blows everyone out of the water with her subtle performance. So good in fact that they add a second scene re-written especially for her. With all the set side hoopla now going to her head, Al, decides she's found what she wants to do with her life.

Episode Quotes
Rich: WOW, Karen that is some outfit.
JT: Yeah, is it Halloween already?
Karen: You better be nice to me cause I'm about to become a huge Hollywood movie star.
Rich: UH OH, sounds like someones nail polish remover is making her all loopy again.

(Karen talking about movie that's filming near-by)
Karen: Starring Jeremy Beck. He's sort of a cross between Kevin Bacon and Brad Pitt.
JT: So he's kind of a bacon pitt?

Al: Look, there's Jeremy Beck.
Karen: He's so much shorter than I thought.
Dana: That's cause he's sitting down.

Dana: Hi, I'm Dana Foster. Before we begin I'd like to discuss my characters background.
Max: Your what?
Dana: I see Waitress #1 as a victim, a brilliant young woman forced to work in a subservient demeaning job.
Jeremy: Excuse me.
Dana: Just a second. Her dreams and ambitions are crushed beneath the boot hill of the male dominated power structure.
Max: Next!
Dana: What? Wait a minute I didn't even get a chance to read the lines.
Max: Yes I know, but we're looking for someone to play a waitress not a terrorist.
