In the 1940s, an elderly miser owns the IOUs of everyone in town. Each Halloween he gives the townsfolk a chance to recover them by sending their children into the house, which the miser has rigged up with tricks and scares. However, the tricks are on him when he gets three unexpected Halloween visitors.
