| A Nice Christmas Episode

What can I say about this episode of The Andy Griffith Show? Some things that come to mind is how the episode writer did a great job showing in 30 minutes what makes the series great and how it is able to put a smile on your face, and make you feel a little sorry for Ben as the episode progressed.
I like how the character of Ben changed through the course of the episode. At first, he could be described as the town scrooge, for wanting Sam to be arrested on Christmas Eve for making moonshine, and ultimately keeping him away from his family on the holiday. But seeing how Andy was doing his best to accommodate the family man, he does all he could to get arrested to spend time at the party at the jailhouse.
I found that by the end of the episode it was nice to see how Ben transformed from a mean-hearted man into a caring person by bringing everybody at the jailhouse Christmas presents. It was also touching how everybody was willing to look past his previously mean nature to be nice to him, even though he was probably back to his same mean ways the following day.
All in all, I thought the Christmas Story is a great addition to the show and is one of my favorite episodes.
