Bee's Driving Lessons
Hi, Emmy! I'm happy to report this episode is fairly taint-free and may be considered for child viewing with some precaution. There's no smoking, drinking, crimes, or seedy characters in this episode and that's a plus. Sadly, the one draw back is Aunt Bee's pathetic need to have Andy's permission to buy a car and to take driving lessons. Andy discourages Bee from the start with the argument that she can't concentrate on driving a car. Some sexist thinking here IMO. I found Bee's grovelling, whining, and begging for Andy's permission about the whole matter degrading and irritating. Others may have a different take on the matter. I suggest proceeding with caution on this one as far as showing it to children. I wouldn't want to give kids the idea that a woman needs to get a man's permission to do the ordinary things of life like buying and learning to drive a car.
