One of the members of the gang, known as The Cardinal, tells Steed that Riordan's girlfriend is waiting to see him which puts Steed very much on the spot.



4 :01x04 - Nightmare

In fact she is the daughter of a defecting scientist and is being used to force her father to return home.

Keel discovers this, but he and Carol are captured by the circus clown who threatens to kill Carol if the police are called in.



7 :01x07 - Diamond Cut Diamond

Steed is looking into the activities of a group of diamond smugglers, and is living in a house which once belonged to a suicide victim who is linked to the smugglers.

One morning Steed receives a phone call telling him that the police are on the look out for a hit and run driver. Steed checks his car, only to find that it has a dent in it and bears traces of human blood.



8 :01x08 - The Radioactive Man

Frank Preston, finally released from prison, is intent on collecting the hidden proceeds of his robbery. Frank Preston's wife is also scheming for her share in the proceeds of the robbery.

When the station's brilliant radar scientist Dr Hubert Marlow dies and appears to be buried but is seen alive at the hospital shortly afterwards, Mrs Peel signs on as a trainee nurse to see what is going on in the hospital. Meanwhile, Steed discovers that the old railwayman is a bit too ready to donate his wealth to worthy causes.
