1 :01x01 - Hot Snow

When his fiancee Peggy is murdered by heroin smugglers, Dr. David Keel swears to avenge his lost love, and is assisted in his quest by John Steed, a mysterious stranger.

2 :01x02 - Brought to Book

Mason is the leader of a gang implicated in Peggy's murder, and Steed infiltrates the gang to further his cause for justice. Dr. Keel warns Steed that a hitman from a rival gang has been sent to kill him.

3 :01x03 - Square Root of Evil

Riordan is a forger who is about to be released from prison, and Steed takes this opportunity to impersonate him, managing to gain the trust of the leader of the gang, a man named Hooper. One of the members of the gang, known as The Cardinal, tells Steed that Riordan's girlfriend is waiting to see him which puts Steed very much on the spot.

4 :01x04 - Nightmare

One of Dr. Keel's patients is married to a scientist who is engaged in secret research, and after Keel receives a phone call from this patient, he assumes the identity of the scientist who has gone missing.

When Dr. Keel is shot in the chest he requires surgery, but somebody has been tampering with the oxygen.

5 :01x05 - Crescent Moon

Steed suspects a political motive when a young girl called Carmelite Mendoza is kidnapped from a Caribbean island.

When the Mendoza family retainer is observed killing the original kidnapper and abducting the girl himself, Steed's suspicions are confirmed.

6 :01x06 - Girl on the Trapeze

After Dr. Keel revives a young girl who has jumped into the Thames he goes to the Radeck State Circus where a young girl is being kept, her face covered in bandages supposedly because of a car accident. In fact she is the daughter of a defecting scientist and is being used to force her father to return home.

Keel discovers this, but he and Carol are captured by the circus clown who threatens to kill Carol if the police are called in.

7 :01x07 - Diamond Cut Diamond

Steed is looking into the activities of a group of diamond smugglers, and is living in a house which once belonged to a suicide victim who is linked to the smugglers.

One morning Steed receives a phone call telling him that the police are on the look out for a hit and run driver. Steed checks his car, only to find that it has a dent in it and bears traces of human blood.

8 :01x08 - The Radioactive Man

Dr. Keel is looking for a man who has picked up a radioactive isotope which will kill him and harm anyone with whom he may come into contact. But the man has gone into hiding, which makes Dr. Keel's job much more difficult.

9 :01x09 - Ashes of Roses

Steed, who is investigating a number of arson cases, goes to the hairdressing salon of Olive and Jacques Beronne.

Keel lets Carol work undercover in the salon, but after she enters there is an explosion from inside.

10 :01x10 - Hunt the Man Down

Frank Preston, finally released from prison, is intent on collecting the hidden proceeds of his robbery. Steed, who has been ordered to follow Frank Preston is also keen to get his hands on the money and so are a couple of gangsters who are desperate enough to kidnap Carol. Frank Preston's wife is also scheming for her share in the proceeds of the robbery.

11 :01x11 - Please Don't Feed the Animals

Steed observes a man throwing a package containing money into the reptile pit at Brinkley House, a private zoo. He discovers that the man is a civil servant who is being blackmailed.

12 :01x12 - Dance with Death

After Dr. Keel resuscitates Elaine Batemen, a ballroom dancing school owner who has been the victim of a poison gas attack, he goes back to the school to collect his scarf only to find himself under arrest. She has been murdered and it is his scarf which is the murder weapon.

13 :01x13 - One for the Mortuary

Whilst attending a health conference in Geneva, Dr. Keel is unaware that he is carrying a vital new medical formula in microdot form. He discovers this only after he is arrested for murder.

14 :01x14 - The Springers

Steed is hunting for the organisers of a gang who are offering their services to anybody who wants to spring a convict from prison. During this investigation, Keel goes undercover as a prisoner and eventually the trail leads to a girl's finishing school.

15 :01x15 - The Frighteners

Sir Thomas Waller hires arch-criminal The Deacon to warn off Jeremy de Willoughby who is seeing Waller's daughter.

Both Steed and Keel are on The Deacon's trail and prevent Willoughby from being hurt by him. Eventualy The Deacon falls into a trap devised by Steed and Keel.

16 :01x16 - The Yellow Needle

Keel is a friend of the African leader Sir Wilberforce Lungi, and after an unsuccessful attempt has been made at murdering him, Steed and Keel investigate his secretary, Jacquetta Brown.

Steed arrives in Africa where he meets Lungi's rival, Shebro.

17 :01x17 - Death on the Slipway

Steed investigates the killing of an agent at a secret dockyard where submarines are built.

He discovers that a foreign spy is trying to kill him but is making the attempts look like accidents.

18 :01x18 - Double Danger

Keel discovers that his latest patient has been shot, and may be involved in a recent diamond robbery.

19 :01x19 - Toy Trap

Bunty and her friend work for a department store. When her friend goes missing, Bunty asks Keel for help. Keel discovers that there is a connection between the department store and a call-girl racket.

20 :01x20 - The Tunnel of Fear

A fairground on the south coast of England is involved in handing out top secret information.

Steed, investigating the fairground, is hypnotised and goes into the ghost train tunnel.

21 :01x21 - The Far Distant Dead

Dr. Keel is in a Mexican village where he is treating victims of a cyclone. A number of food poisonings occur, and he discovers that the emergency cooking oil is actually hydraulic fluid.

22 :01x22 - Kill the King

Steed and Keel are thrust into the world of dissidents and killers when a visiting monarch who is due to sign an oil treaty finds that his life is threatened.

23 :01x23 - Dead of Winter

Steed and Keel are thrust into the shadowy world of Phoenix, a new and terrifying Fascist party in Great Britain after the body of Schneider, a wanted Nazi war criminal is discovered.

24 :01x24 - The Deadly Air

Steed and Keel volunteer to be human guinea pigs after an experimental vaccine is stolen and tests with it prove to be fatal.

Steed and Keel do not believe that the death was caused by the vaccine and set out to prove this.

25 :01x25 - A Change of Bait

This unusual story of 'The Avengers' deals with a consignment of rotten bananas, heart disease and a bit of industrial unrest.

26 :01x26 - Dragonsfield

A research centre irradiates one of its scientists despite the fact that it is developing radiation-proof material.

27 :02x01 - Mr Teddy Bear

Whilst being interviewed on television, a man is murdered, and One-Ten feels certain that the assassin Mr. Teddy Bear is involved.

One-Ten asks Cathy to set a trap for Mr. Teddy Bear by putting out a contract on Steed's life.

28 :02x02 - Propellant 23

A courier who was carrying a sample of liquid rocket fuel is found dead at Marseilles Airport by Steed and Cathy, and the sample is missing.

29 :02x03 - The Decapod

Whilst the President of the Balkan Republic is on a visit to London his private secretary is killed by a masked wrestler known as the Decapod.

Steed agrees to act as bodyguard to The President, but the killings of people who are close to The President continue unabated.

30 :02x04 - Bullseye

A tycoon plans to take over Anderson's, an arms manufacturer, but the shareholders are being murdered.

Mrs. Gale buys a few shares and awaits developments, while noting that rifles and other equipment are being smuggled into Africa.

31 :02x05 - Mission to Montreal

Steed goes undercover as a steward on a luxury liner after a film star's understudy is murdered. Microfilm of America's early warning system is missing, and it is strange that the film star is travellilng by sea when she suffers from sea sickness.

Dr. King also goes undercover as the film star's doctor.

32 :02x06 - The Removal Men

Steed robs the leader of a group of assassins working in Southern France in the hope that he will impress him enough to employ him.

While waiting for the gang leader in a night club he encounters Venus Smith who is singing there.

33 :02x07 - The Mauritius Penny

An extremely rare Mauritius Penny turns up and the owner of a stamp shop is murdered while talking on the phone to a contact about its discovery.

Cathy goes undercover working in the stamp shop. Then another murder occurs in an auction room.

34 :02x08 - Death of a Great Dane

When a man who is in a car crash turns out to have fifty thousand pounds worth of diamonds in his stomach, Steed investigates the offices of the millionaire Litoff.

One of Litoff's Great Danes has died mysteriously and there is something odd about the dog's burial.

35 :02x09 - The Sell-Out

Steed is guarding Monseigneur Roland, a United Nations negotiator in London, but nevertheless an attempt is made on the man's life.

It is starting to look as though one of Steed's associates is corrupt, and has sold out to the enemy.

36 :02x10 - Death on the Rocks

Steed and Cathy Gale go undercover and pretend to be husband and wife when the wife of a diamond merchant is murdered.

37 :02x11 - Traitor in Zebra

HMS Zebra is a naval base where secrets are being leaked to the enemy. Steed and Mrs. Gale are very suspicious of the local sweet shop.

38 :02x12 - The Big Thinker

The most sophisticated computer in the world, Plato, used to target missiles, is in need of repair. The trouble is that one of the professors who works on the computer's team is found inside.

39 :02x13 - Death Dispatch

When a British courier is attacked he protects the diplomatic bag which he is carrying with his life.

Steed and Mrs. Gale cannot work out why, as the briefcase contains perfectly ordinary papers.

40 :02x14 - Dead on Course

When a plane crashes in Ireland Steed calls on Dr. King to investigate as there is something mysterious about the way the bodies have so quickly been taken to the local convent.

Steed undertakes more enquiries at Shamrock Airport.

41 :02x15 - Intercrime

Mrs. Gale impersonates an assassin known as Hilda Stern, who has recently been arrested. When the real Hilda Stern breaks out of prison and confronts Mrs. Gale problems arise.

42 :02x16 - Immortal Clay

Some friends of Mrs. Gale's run a Company known as Marling Ceramics, and are on the verge of inventing unbreakable china.

When a body turns up in a container of clay, Steed is called in to investigate.

43 :02x17 - Box of Tricks

Venus Smith is working at a club where the magician's assistant dies under mysterious circumstances in a vanishing cabinet.

Steed feels that the assistant's death has something to do with the theft of classified information.

44 :02x18 - Warlock

When the inventor of a new fuel formula is found in a coma, Steed is entrusted with its safe keeping.

Steed and Cathy are led into the world of black magic when it is discovered that the inventor had been dabbling in the occult prior to his mysterious illness.

45 :02x19 - The Golden Eggs

Dr. Ashe is an experimental scientist. He has located a deadly virus which is contained in two gold-plated eggs.

When the eggs are stolen, Cathy is assigned to get them back.

46 :02x20 - School for Traitors

A University lecturer is found dead. The authorities think it is suicide, but when a letter is found on the body addressed to Venus Smith Steed suspects foul play.

Venus is also sent a bottle of skin cream which contains acid, but fortunately she does not use it. It becomes very obvious that somebody is desperate to lay their hands on the letter. It is probable that a criminal mastermind is behind events, as several more people die before the person responsible is brought to justice..

47 :02x21 - The White Dwarf

An astronomer is murdered while observing a star called The White Dwarf, but his death is kept secret because the astronomer believed that the White Dwarf was heading straight for planet earth on a path of destruction.

After several more astronomers are murdered, Steed and Cathy discover that the whole thing has been a fraud.

48 :02x22 - The Man in the Mirror

Trevelyan, a cypher clerk dies, but weirdly his face shows up on a roll of film after his demise.

Steed visits the cypher clerk's wife who admits that her husband is not dead, but he has been kidnapped and she is being blackmailed in order to save his life.

Eventually, Steed and Cathy discover that Mr. and Mrs. Trevelyan are traitors who are out to kill them.

49 :02x23 - Conspiracy of Silence

A member of the Mafia has been ordered to kill Steed, and he uses a circus as cover. Steed knows that the Mafia are smuggling drugs, and this information is dangerous to him.

Cathy goes undercover in the circus and events escalate, culminating in the death of a stage hand.

The elderly Lakin brothers, Jasper and Miles, are a pair of lawyers who offer an unusual service: for a fee of 20,000 Swiss francs they arrange things so their client can commit the crime of his or her choice and be guaranteed acquittal at the trial.
After a public argument with Mrs. Gale, Steed hires the Lakins so he can murder Gale and get away with it. After shooting her on a boat, Steed is arrested for her murder and, sure enough, is acquitted at the trial. But Gale's body was never found, and Steed has more up his sleeve than a murder.

When a supposedly impregnable top-secret installation (the 'Nutshell') is broken into and some microfilm containing a list of British agents is stolen, Steed and Gale are put on the case. Steed is eventually captured and subjected to intense questioning, but refuses to talk. But surely Steed can't have defected to the other side, so what is really going on?

Coffins that send up aerials after they are buried, a hospital that gets distinctly non-botanical deliveries from the local florist, and a delightfully eccentric old train driver with his own miniature railway are part of the mysteries that Steed and Mrs Peel must unravel as they tackle a case in which the radar system at a missile early warning station is inexplicably jammed. When the station's brilliant radar scientist Dr Hubert Marlow dies and appears to be buried but is seen alive at the hospital shortly afterwards, Mrs Peel signs on as a trainee nurse to see what is going on in the hospital. Meanwhile, Steed discovers that the old railwayman is a bit too ready to donate his wealth to worthy causes.
