• Kath and Kim pipped by Simpsons

FOUNTAIN Gate came to London with a flourish yesterday as Kath and Kim took the stage at the British Comedy Awards.

But the foxy ladies were pipped by The Simpsons for Best International Comedy Show.
Alter-egos Gina Riley -- in a similar frock to that worn by the glamorous Stephanie McIntosh at this year's Logies -- and Jane Turner presented an award in front of a TV audience of 11 million.

Quirky sketch show Little Britain took out Best TV Comedy.

The BBC show created by double act Matt Lucas and David Walliams beat Ricky Gervais's Extras, his follow-up to the hugely successful The Office.
