The Deputy

The Deputy

Film star Henry Fonda gave television a try in this Western which ran for two seasons on NBC from 1959-61. Fonda played Marshal Simon Fry, yet another lawman attempting to tame the wild and woolly West. Because of other acting commitments, Fonda couldn't appear in all of the episodes so many of them focused on co-star Allen Case, who played Marshal Fry's deputy, hence the title of the series.
