A camera is installed in Drew's house that will broadcast him over the internet in order to promote products for Winfred Louder. The audience feels bad for Drew, so they hire Kate to pose as his girlfriend. However the audience does not believe the chemistry between Kate and Drew, so Kate is replaced with a supermodel. The only problem is that Kate is madly in love with Drew.
Drew and Kate plan for their first date, but things may be ruined when Drew develops a serious stomachache. At first he thinks it was caused by stress about Steve and Mimi's upcoming wedding, but it soon becomes clear that it is anxiety over his date with Kate.
Steve and Mimi's wedding does not go on completely as planned, especially when one ends up locked in the bathroom crying. A dead uncle's coffin serves as the table and the minister has to leave. What more could go wrong? Plenty.
Drew and Kate are finally able to go on their first date, but when Kate falls asleep on his shoulder, Drew thinks he must do something to spice up their relationship. But their second date doesn't go quite as he'd planned.

In the season opening episode, things get ugly when Drew and Oswald compete to fix their moms up with the same eligible widower.

Drew reconsiders proposing to Kellie after her parents spilit up and her mother suddenly takes up with Lewis.
Drew comes up with a plan to open a retro store, and seeks a partnership with the now-wealthy Wick. However, all of Wick's funds come through his father-in-law, so Drew must help cover up Wick's affair or lose his financial backing.
Kellie finally agrees to marry Drew, but their wedding plans are thrown into disarray when she goes into labor.
