This was the first season of The Drew Carey Show.

Meet Drew, Kate, Lewis and Oswald of Cleveland, Ohio. They are just normal people trying to deal with angry co-workers, dating, beer and drunkeness.

Drew is the assistent director of personnel of the Winfred Louder department store. His best friend, Kate, works in the make-up department, and his crush, Lisa, designs the layout of products. The problem with Lisa is that since she is a store employee, they can't date.

At the same time, Kate dates an old high school friend, while Lewis and Oswald remain oblivious to the world around them. This season also sees the only appearance by Kate's mother throughout the entire series as she tries to set up Drew and Kate.

It's where it all began.
