Wealthy surgeon Herbert Barth falls victim to kidnappers, but manages to escape - only after they've taken him to a secluded backwoods hideout. He must stay ahead of the kidnappers, one of whom is an expert backwoodsman, long enough for Erskine to put together the pieces and find him.
