The Facts of Life

The Facts: When the show started out,a summer series with Mrs. Garret from Diff'rent Strokes became a house mother to seven girls at Eastland School .
After the series returned and was ready for a second season, the cast was redone,with Mrs. Garret and three of the girls (Blair,Natalie,and Tootie), and then a new girl, Jo (a tough streetwise girl).
Problems occurred as the girls "borrowed" Mrs.Garret's van to go to a local bar, and all four girls was arrested. Expelled,from school, however they could stay on, as workers in the schools dining room,supervised by Mrs. Garret, who is the school's dietitian.
As the series went on, Blair and Jo graduated. The series moved to Edna's Eatables, as Mrs. Garret opened a coffee shop.
At the start of the 1985 season,there was a fire, and the girls revamped the place to a "novelty store" called "Over Our Heads".
During the 1986 season, Mrs. Garret was married, and moved on (to the peace corps), and was replaced by her sister Beverly Ann.
The episodes were fun filled,sometimes but also there was tears as well.
All in all, the show was one of the great classics of the 1980's.
