Gracie Allen's retirement found George Burns continuing on with most of the cast members from the previous show. This premise finds George in the part of comedian-turned-theatrical-producer. This failed and the format was changed to a variety show with guest stars each week. This too failed and the show was canceled after only 18 episodes.
