  Episode Quotes
Sophia: Do you know what they call cooking meat over an open fire in Sicily?
Dorothy: No, what?
Sophia: Poverty!

Rose: Lily was the first person in St. Olaf to have a pilot's license.
Blanche: We have something in common. I was the first person in my town to ever have a pilot.

Woman: I'll give you $1.50 for this.
Sophia: What does this look like, Bagdad? Get the hell out of here!

Dorothy: Listen, Ma, we cannot afford a new TV. We're using the household money to repair the roof and repave the driveway.
Sophia: Great. And what am I supposed to do when every other old lady on the block is watching Cosby?
Dorothy: Well, you can sit in the new driveway and hope that an amusing black family drops by.

  Cultural References
Sophia: What am I suppose to do while everybody else is watching Cosby?
Dorothy: Just sit and watch for an amusing black family to walk by.

Refers to The Cosby Show with Bill Cosby. His show was about a family and was comedic in style.

(To Rose)
Dorothy: Now get out of here, you've come back more times then Cheryl McClain.
