NBC, the network which aired the original series The Golden Girls did not pick this spin-off up, therefore resulting in it's placement on CBS.

After outstanding petition by many Lifetime TV fans, the network agreed to air the rarely seen season of Golden Palace.

The opening song to this series is a remix of The Golden GIrls opening, "Thank You for Being A Friend", sung by songwriter Andrew Gold.

According to CBS producers, this series almost made the cut for a second season, but was axed at the last minute.
