Episode Notes

This episode was a parody of the classic 1959-63 ABC crime drama The Untouchables which was produced by Lucille Ball's very own Desilu Studios. Untouchables stars Robert Stack, Bruce Gordon, and Steve London all parodied their roles on that series in this episode and Untouchables narrator Walter Winchell does the same here as well.

Robert Stack's character mistakenly hands Lucy a card for "Rosemarie's School for Models" instead of his official government card. Rosemarie happens to be the name of Stack's wife.

This episode is included as a bonus feature in the Season 1, Volume 2 DVD of The Untouchables.

Analysis

TV legends Robert Stack and Bruce Gordon are hilariously funny parodying their Untouchables roles of Eliot Ness and Frank Nitti in this episode. Never mind the farcical script and one glaring hole in the plot. Just sit back and enjoy the fun. This marked the only time Stack ever parodied his Untouchables role of Eliot Ness and we can all be glad that he did but Gordon nearly steals the episode right out from under everyone with his turn as a paroled bank robber whose moll is a dead ringer for Lucy.
