1 :01x01 - Pilot (Sep/22/2004)
After the patriarch of the Carver family, David Carver, Sr. is killed in avalanche, his freewheeling grandson David Carver Jr. returns to Boundary Mountain. There is much apprehension as to the future of the Carver family and Boundary Mountain when they discover he left it all to his irresponsible grandson, David Jr. This alienates his older and business-savvy brother, Will Carver. When Colin Dowling, long time nemesis of the Carvers offers David a way out, Will and the Carver family have to convince him not to sell out.

David gets arrested, preventing him from joining Will and Maria attend an important meeting for a loan. Max tells David she is really Colin Dowling's daughter. Shelley continues to have a hard time dealing with the death of her grandfather. David tries to fix his mistake of ruining The Mountain's chances at getting the loan.

Colin Dowling undermines the Carvers by hosting their family's traditional Boundary Days carnival in memory of Grandpa Carver. David has to come up with an idea to compete with the Dowling's carnival. Shelley remains oblivious to Sam's feeling about her. Eric offers a bribe to David to keep a part of his past, which he'd like to forget, a secret.

4 :01x04 - Water (Oct/13/2004)
Gennie meets with ex-con F. Robert Chapman who is the co-chair of her charity, despite her fear that he is only doing it for his required community service. Eric threatens to tell Maria that David was with her brother, Gabe, the night he died, unless David pays him off. Shelley and Sam give Mike Dowling a snowboarding lesson, while Colin Dowling forbids Mike to see Shelley again. More problems erupt when the resort's water mains break. Will discovers unusual activity with Eric's paychecks, and asks David to fire him; which David does not want to do to keep his secret concealed. Travis out steps his bounds and Colin decides to fire him. Will experiences feelings of jealousy about Maria and David's past relationship when he discovers some recent pictures in Maria's purse. A conniving and desperate Eric seeks out Travis only to discover they both have something in common.

After Travis finds out about David Carver's closely guarded secret, he persuades Colin to rehire him as leverage over David. Gennie hosts a masquerade ball for her cystic fibrosis charity, while F. Robert Chapin, her co-chair, works his romantic charms on Gennie. Travis negotiates a deal with David Carver for Downling to lease the back 40 acres of The Mountain, in exchange for Travis' silence about David's whereabouts when Gabe died. Maria finally gets the truth from David about Gabe's death, and some old feelings are re-visited.

6 :01x06 - Best Laid Plans (Oct/31/2004)
After the masquerade ball, Gennie goes with F. Robert Chapin for a ride on his private jet and wakes up in San Francisco. Will tells David that the land he leased to Colin Dowling is developmentally worthless, and to not tell Max. The Dowling's ask Will & David to speak at their board of director’s dinner. Will plans to embarrass Colin Dowling by telling his board that the land he leased is worthless, while Colin planned to tell that Grandpa Carver cheated in the poker game that won him The Mountain. Before anyone could speak, Colin and Will are called away because Shelley Carver and Mike Dowling get arrested. Colin visits Gennie later that night to tell her that The Mountain is really his, because his father is the man that Grandpa Carver was playing poker against and cheated, when he won The Mountain.

7 :01x07 - The Letter (Nov/14/2004)
Shelley tries to make amends with Sam after their fight. Eric is found unconscious on the ski lift at the start of the day. Boundary Mountain cancels a music video shoot in light of the ski lift incident. Scarlett, the ski lift operator, admits she was somewhat preoccupied, fooling around with Sam at the end of her shift the night before. While investigating the ski lift incident, David finds a letter that Eric wrote to him apologizing for everything he did, and points a finger at Travis for using him to get at David, and then firing him when he didn't need him anymore. David confronts Travis. Shelley enlists Mike Dowling’s help to make the video shoot happen at The Barn, since Sam was looking forward to it. Shelley reads an old letter to Sam that reminds him why he shouldn't throw their friendship away.

Mona Richards, an old acquaintance of Grandpa Carver, and her daughter Riley return to Boundary Mountain to sell their shares in the resort. Riley comes onto a reluctant David, which leaves David and Max's relationship on the rocks. Sam's father, Ted, irresponsibly uses Sam's college money to invest in a startup microbrewery.

It's Thanksgiving on The Mountain, as the Carver family prepares for their traditional turkey dinner, an uninvited guest comes calling. John 'Whit' Whitman comes into town and introduces himself to Shelley as the father she has never met. Shelley is somewhat eager to learn more about him, but the rest of her family is not at all pleased that he is back. Colin Dowling takes his family out for turkey hunting, despite the fact that he doesn't believe in celebrating Thanksgiving, and Mike's rifle accidentally discharges injuring Colin. David tries to convince Max to give him another chance.

Maria considers Colin Dowling's offer of a job in New York. Whit convinces Shelley to let him be her trainer, despite Gennie's objections. Will gets the courage to propose to Maria, while Maria decides to reveal to David how she really feels. Sam becomes more confused about his feelings for Scarlett and Shelley. Whit accepts money from Colin Dowling for some rather dubious business.

David and Maria decide to try to tell Will that they slept together. Mike Dowling stands up to Colin, and Colin cuts him loose along with his financial support. Max comes back into town and finds David to be very withdrawn, David is unready to tell her about his rekindled relationship with Maria. Maria tries to tell Will about David when she meets him for dinner, only to discover Will invited her parents for a celebratory engagement dinner.

Will takes off to Indiana after Max told him about David and Maria's affair. Whit asks Gennie to take Shelley with him to continue her training. Mike Dowling asks David for job at Boundary Mountain. When Mike learns the Dowlings are paying Whit, he tells David. Shelley has to make the decision to stay at Boundary Mountain or leave with Whit. Whit has to decide if his loyalties will lie with the Dowling’s or if he will do what's in Shelley's best interests.

Mike asks Shelley out on an official date, but they end up driving Sam and Scarlett to Canada to get a morning after pill after Sam's condom broke. Max suspects she may be pregnant and tells David. Shelley comes to a realization that her and Sam's relationship are going through changes that she has to come to terms with and accept. Max is on the rebound, and reluctantly hooks up with Travis.
