"The Name of the Game" Summary |
| |
The Name of the Game was a drama series broadcast on the NBC network in the United States. The show was set in the world of magazine publishing at Howards Publications. The show "rotated" between three main characters, each loosely tied together by the fact they worked for Howards Publications. The owner of the company, Glenn Howard (Gene Berry) took on business and political stories. Dan Farrell (Robert Stack) was an ex-FBI agent who used the company's resources to take on organized crime. And Jeff Dillon (Anthony Franciosa) was a crusading investigative reporter who took on corruption wherever it came up. Although the three main characters never met, they all worked with other employees at Howards Publications, including junior reporters Joe Sample, Ross Craig, and Andy Hill, and editorial assistant Peggy Maxwell.
